“Free Motion Christmas”Mini Collection/ Diamond Club Release

“Floral Foundations” Mix & Match Collection

When you complete a quilt using these designs it will look like it is entirely free motion quilted. There are twenty different Christmas designs that are done in one motion without stops or trims! To make the collection even more exciting we digitized the designs 2 different

ways. The first version uses a single pass running stitch that mimics free motion quilting. You can even add other embroidery designs right on top of them. The second version is a triple running stitch for a bolder effect! These designs are the ones we used in our quilt and look great when embroidered in two different colors.

Sunbonnet Sue and Sam are classic designs that have been used on quilts for many generations. This is our second collection featuring these classic designs. This time we created them with a Christmas theme. There are 12 different designs in this

collection 6 of Sue and 6 of Sam. Each of the designs feature applique for fast stitching and come in two different sizes each. They will look beautiful on any project. We created hand towels for our project using cotton as a base and pieces of fabric and linen on the bottom.

“Trapunto Christmas”Mix & Match Collection/Diamond Club Release

We thought a Christmas collection would be a great theme for our second trapunto collection. This trapunto technique is nothing like the old techniques where you stuffed the fabric from the back. This technique uses batting that is cut in your hoop into different shapes to form the raised

trapunto effect. There are 20 different designs in 4 sizes each as well as two different sets of border designs. This is a Mix and Match collection and can be combined with our other Mix and Match collections to expand your design possibilities.

“Sunbonnet Sue Christmas”Vintage Mini Collection

This collection consists of quilt blocks that will easily merge with your existing designs to create beautiful quilts in your machine without using any software. You simply open the desired background, merge your existing embroidery design and stitch the block! You will

end up with a perfectly centered quilt block complete with your choice of many backgrounds and borders. This collection is an extension of our original Mix and Match “Foundations” collection. This “Floral Foundations” collection gives you even more block design options with a floral motif stitching.

“Christmas Crazy Quilt Blocks”Projects Collection

This fast and easy project uses a purchased linen napkin. The embroidery designs in this collection have a marking stitch to ensure perfect placement every time! There are 12 napkin corner designs and 12 coordinating napkin ring designs. Note: Combine this collection with the “Christmas Crazy Quilt Blocks” Projects collection to complete your holiday table setting with a quick and easy placemat project.

Making Christmas Crazy Quilt Blocks is a great way to use all of those scrap pieces in your stash! Mix a variety of fabrics, colors and textures to create a unique set of placemats. There are 12 designs that come in four sizes each and this collection is compatible with all our Mix & Match quilting collections. Tips for Working with Metallic ThreadMake your Christmas Embroideries pop by using metallic thread! Many people admire our Christmas samples and the way they sparkle but are afraid to use Metallic Thread. Well fear no more, we have a few tips to share that will have you using this beautiful thread on your next embroidery project! We use Floriani Metallic Thread which comes in 17 beautiful colors.

1. Use a well digitized design. Not all embroidery designs are created equal; we have tested each of our designs and are sure the metallic thread works in the area suggested. Avoid very dense areas or large fill areas.

2. Use a sharp metallic needle. These needles are designed with an enlarged polished eye to accommodate specialty threads and preventing shredding.

3. Use a secondary spool rack (and place on the floor). Most metallic threads like to be run vertically verses horizontally. The further the distance between the thread and the machine, the more kinks and loops will be eliminated before running through the tension.

4. Turn your thread upside down. Metallic thread has more of a memory and turning the thread upside down will help reverse this problem.

5. Slow your machine speed down, 600 spm usually works best.6. If you do run your thread horizontally, use a thread net.7. Adjust your tension; some machines require the upper tension to be adjusted more than others.

Check in your manual or with your local dealer for more information on your specific machine.8. Don’t be discouraged! If one brand of metallic thread does not work, try another! Once you

figure out what works best for you, the results are well worth the time and effort as you can see on the following page with a few of our example projects.
