Christmas in the past

• In the mamluk times the streets were decorated with lamps. Candles were everywhere! Also a wonderful establishment called Mena House would dress for Christmas. The whole floor was turned into a winter scene with artificial snow and frosted trees and plants. Also log fires would burn merrily in the many fireplaces.
