Sun 29 Dec Feast of the Holy Family and First CommunionsSt John’s Christmas Tree: St John’s has again been supporting theAnglicare “Toys ’n’ Tucker” appeal and the Dee Why Women’s Refuge, helpingneedy families to enjoy some gifts and festive food on Christmas Day.

Children’s Christmas Service, Tuesday 24 December, 5:00pm: This is aspecial Christmas occasion for all children, with carols, prayers, a presentation ofthe Christmas Story and singing by Playtime mothers. A young people’s groupwill play Christmas Carols before the service, which lasts about thirty minutes.Please bring children, grandchildren and tell friends and neighbours.

St John’s Christmas Day Lunch: If you know someone who may be on theirown at Christmas please book and come with them, or just encourage them toreserve a place by entering their name on the list in the lobby, phoning the office(9971 8694) or speaking with Lynette Johnson either after the morning servicesor on 0408 254 125. Thanks to all for generous offers to help and donate.

Christmas Bowl: Envelopes for the Christmas Bowl Appeal are available. Whynot leave your envelope on your dinner table on Christmas Day, and give at leastthe cost of one person’s meal at your Christmas Dinner? Please hand in yourenvelope either on Christmas Day or on the Sunday after Epiphany (5 January2014) as your gift for Jesus in the poor. Alternatively, you can send yourdonation directly to the Christmas Bowl Appeal.

Casseroles: Frozen meals are available to all in need, including parishionerswho may be unwell and unable to get out, caring for someone else, or anypeople you know who would appreciate assistance. Please contact RobynCouch, Bev Bingham or Lynette Johnson to receive meals.

St John’s Recycling Program: Parishioners are invited to use the collectionboxes at the back of the Church for recycling batteries, candles, corks, inkcartridges, spectacles, sunglasses and spectacle cases, and also for usedpostage stamps and phonecards to help the work of ABM.

Christmas Holidays are here!Children’s weekday (Playtime), young people’s(Youth Group) ministries, Caritas, Mothers’ Unionand Wednesday Bible Study have all broken up.Office and Café - closed from Christmas, and running on askeleton basis in January.Evening Prayer (Vespers) will be said in the chapel in lieu of Evensong on29 December and on Sundays in January.Sunday morning Eucharists, Godly Play, and Crèche (unsupervised),and the Daily Weekday Eucharists to continue through the holidays.No Choir at Sunday services (or the Tuesday Choir practices) for Januaryor the first two Sundays of February.Street Mission Wednesday Café to continue (except Christmas Day).No January Op Shop.
