How do we Know we are Asking in God’s Will?

• We need wisdom to seek his will (rightness, sincerity, scripture or just listening to him)

‘If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God, who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given you’ (James 1:5)

• With sincerity. ‘Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart (Heb 10:22)

• With humility. ‘O Lord, you will hear the desire of the meek’

• With faith. ’But ask in faith, never doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind ’ (Js 1:6)

• ‘I know not what place my prayers may have, but I do know that when I pray, I have the privilege of opening the resources of heaven to those for whom I pray’

• When God is about to work, he frequently lays a burden on his people to pray for that thing. Prayer appears to be a necessary part of God’s way of ‘doing business’.
