Bishop Griffin Center Donations

From the Pastor’s Desk

This weekend we mark the fifteenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States. We pray for the souls of those who lost their lives that day – may they rest in peace. We also take this opportunity to ask God for an end to violence and terrorism around the world and an outpouring of grace and mercy upon our nation. As is the case for most of us, I remember distinctly the events of September 11. I also remember the renewal of faith it generated in our country in the days and months that followed. It seemed as if everyone recognized the need for prayer, healing, and the Lord’s peace in that time of great tragedy. Fifteen years later, we recognize that those needs are still present. Only with our eyes fixed on Christ can we persevere through the both the encouraging and challenging chapters of our nation’s unfolding history. Let us allow this hallowed date, September 11, remind us of our dependence on God’s wisdom, guidance, and strength.

May the Lord bless you throughout the week.

Bishop Campbell requests that all parishes in the Diocese of Columbus participate in the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ emergency collection to assist the victims of the 2016 Louisiana floods. Our hearts and prayers go out to the

families who have lost loved ones and to all those living in communities who have lost homes and businesses along with their sense of security. The bishop has asked that this emergency collection for the 2016 Louisiana floods be taken next weekend, September 17-18. We will have baskets at the doors of the church

Este fin de semana es el decimoquinto aniversario de los ataques terroristas del 9/11 en los Estados Unidos. Oramos por las almas de los que perdieron la vida ese día - que descansen en paz. También aprovechamos esta oportunidad para pedir a Dios que ponga fin a la violencia y el terrorismo en todo el mundo y derrame su gracia y misericordia sobre nuestro país. Como la mayoría de nosotros, recuerdo claramente los acontecimientos del 11 de septiembre. También recuerdo la renovación de la fe que se generó en nuestro país en los días y meses que siguieron. Parecía como si todo mundo reconociera la necesidad de la oración, la sanación y la paz del Señor en ese momento de gran tragedia. Quince años más tarde, reconocemos que esas necesidades todavía están presentes. Sólo con los ojos fijos en Cristo podemos perseverar a través de los capítulos alentadores y desafiantes de la historia en desarrollo de nuestra nación. Dejemos que esta fecha sagrada, 11 de septiembre, nos recuerde nuestra dependencia de la sabiduría, orientación, y fuerza de Dios Que el Señor los bendiga durante toda la semana. but effective way of achieving or postponing a pregnancy. This fall there will be two opportunities to learn NFP.
