The Bridge February 5, 2021 **This Sunday, February 7 -- Annual Meeting at 2:00 pm in the Picnic Area! CHECK OUT the new pictures of the Renovation at the bottom! Inspiring Thoughts by Silke Pyrlik, Spiritual Director Welcome Pastor June and Bob! We have arrived! On Monday, February 8, our new pastor will be joining us. Allow me, in the name of our whole congregation, to extend a warm and happy welcome to Pastor June! A new chapter for CLC will start on Monday. We are excited, we feel blessed. Recently, a new visitor to our CONNECTED faith encounter meetings on Wednesday's just confided in us that she has been "stalking” us for awhile (online), was impressed by the amount of service ministry we are providing to our community in the midst of a pandemic, really liked our CONNECTED concept and was thrilled that we have a woman pastor. Let's pray that many more people, seekers of a church community like ours that truly walks in Jesus’ feet, will find us and join us. Pastor June clearly felt a higher call to join us in order to enhance traditional, old ways of worshipping as well as exploring new worship opportunities and especially furthering our service outreach into the community. All that, together with us, the existing community of believers as well as all new-comers into our church life, in a joint, mutual effort of partnership for the kingdom of God. Also recently, a couple in our church heard from outsiders that CLC was represented at the MLK community services and those non-members were thoroughly impressed by all we do for our community. Do you all feel, like I do, that we are on the right way? That things will turn out exactly like God wants for us? That we will be known on the island as a shining beacon for true service, love, equality and justice seekers in our HHI community? May God keep blessing CLC, our Pastor June, and our service to the HHI community! May the peace be with you always! Silke

Inspiring Thoughts by Silke Pyrlik, Spiritual Director

Welcome Pastor June and Bob!

We have arrived! On Monday, February 8, our new pastor will be joiningus.

Allow me, in the name of our whole congregation, to extend a warm andhappy welcome to Pastor June!

A new chapter for CLC will start on Monday. We are excited, we feel blessed.

Recently, a new visitor to our CONNECTED faith encounter meetings on Wednesday's justconfided in us that she has been "stalking” us for awhile (online), was impressed by the amount ofservice ministry we are providing to our community in the midst of a pandemic, really liked ourCONNECTED concept and was thrilled that we have a woman pastor.

Let's pray that many more people, seekers of a church community like ours that truly walks inJesus’ feet, will find us and join us.

Pastor June clearly felt a higher call to join us in order to enhance traditional, old ways ofworshipping as well as exploring new worship opportunities and especially furthering our serviceoutreach into the community. All that, together with us, the existing community of believers as wellas all new-comers into our church life, in a joint, mutual effort of partnership for the kingdom ofGod.

Also recently, a couple in our church heard from outsiders that CLC was represented at the MLKcommunity services and those non-members were thoroughly impressed by all we do for ourcommunity.

Do you all feel, like I do, that we are on the right way? That things will turn out exactly like Godwants for us? That we will be known on the island as a shining beacon for true service, love, equality and justice seekers in our HHI community?

May God keep blessing CLC, our Pastor June, and our service to the HHI community!

May the peace be with you always!Silke

2019. 23,316 pounds of food (some from CLC) was collected in December alone---up from 11,148pounds in December 2019. There really is an on-going need to assist the food insecure on HiltonHead Island.

Also, The Lunch Break Program continues to make and provide 70 bagged lunches on a weeklybasis. The lunches are given out at church and at various locations on the island. The program alsoprovides 50 lunches every Thursday for the Neighborhood Outreach Connection. An army ofchurch members and friends in the HHI community contribute sandwiches, cookies, and fruit to theLunch Break on a weekly basis.

Here are some suggested donations to our ministries:The Preschool: Scotch tape, Copy paper, Paper plates---large and smallThe Little Free Pantry : Small bags of white rice, Peanut butterJelly, Tortillas, Breakfast bars1 Dish meals (Chef Boy R Dee, Ramen noodle bowls, chunky soups, stews etc.)Shelf stable boxed milk (small containers if possible)Hotel size toiletries, Spaghetti sauceSpaghetti pasta, Salt and pepper (small shaker sets)Anything else you wish to donate---we give out hygiene items, cleaning supplies, paper products, snack bars, socks, masks, sanitizers etc.The Thursday Lunch Break: Bottles of water, Small bags of potato chipsThe Deep Well Project: Canned fruit/fruit cupsCereal, Hamburger Helper, Deodorant, Full size shampoo

Many thanks to all of you who support the preschool in so manyways. The donated supplies each month are so appreciated, andreally help our budget this year.

Another easy way to help the preschool is to link your HarrisTeeter VIC card to our school. Just tell the cashier when youcheck out that you want to link your card. It only has to be doneonce each year. It's SO EASY!
