Help Needed for Last 2 Lenten Meals – We are looking for volunteers to set up, serve, clean up and bring salads and desserts. Please look for the sign-up sheets in the back of either church or https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A044DADAA29A1F58-lenten.

Church Cleaning - Save the Date – Saturday, April 13, from 9:00 – noon. Our annual spring cleaning of the North campus church is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, from 9:00 am to noon. We invite all members to help beautify, clean and maintain our church buildings by participating in this activity. There is a sign-up sheet by the Welcome Center in the narthex. Offering Envelopes – When visiting other area WELS churches, as a courtesy to our church counters, please mark your special offering envelopes (Lent, Easter, Thanksgiving, et.) with a hand written note on the envelope with you home church’s name Christ Alone.

The “Underground” – There will be no teen “Underground” meetings until after Easter to permit everyone to attend our services in Lent.

Israel Informational Meeting – If you are interested in learning more about the planned trip to Israel in January of 2020, an informational meeting and travelogue of Israel will be held on Sunday, March 31st at 1:30 p.m. in our school library. Everyone is welcome to attend. LWMS Door Offering -At all services the weekend of March 31st and April 7th there will be a door offering for LWMS. Look for a basket in the back of church at both campuses. This offering is gathered from all of the congregations in our circuit and will be divided between the home mission project, Children’s Ministry Outreach, and the world mission project, ACTS – Apache Christian Training School. The Children’s Ministry Outreach helps mission churches begin a children’s ministry or start a childcare center or preschool. ACTS provides theological courses to train and equip White Mountain and San Carlos Apache Tribes for ministry. The program trains Apaches to be pastors, evangelists, deacons and deaconesses, and certified Apache Lutheran teachers. The operational costs of the seminary and ministry school are funded only by gifts and donations. Save The Date - St. John’s will be hosting their annual Easter Family Gathering on Saturday, April 6th 8:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. Please RSVP to St John’s by March 31 at 262-241-3121 or [email protected] Christ Alone will hold its annual Easter Camp entitled "Jellybean Easter Stories" on Saturday, April 13 from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. at the north campus for 3 three year olds through third graders. Registrations forms will be available beginning in March. Ladies of Christ Alone - Save the date for the LWMS Milwaukee Metro North circuit’s spring rally. The date is April 27th, the Saturday after Easter. It is being held here at Christ Alone, at the south campus. If you have never been to one, this is the one to attend since it is so close to home. Come

and spend a morning with other women who have a love for missions. Breakfast is served from 8:00-9:00 am. The rally itself starts at 9:00 and is done at noon. The speakers for this rally will be Veronica Anderson and Miranda Schaewe. Both are students at Wisconsin Lutheran College and will be talking about their experience in Zambia, Africa from January-March.

Easter Flower Orders – A signup sheet and payment envelopes are available on the Welcome Center at church. Please indicate your flower order on the signup sheet. Payment envelopes may be placed in the collection plate or in the box on the Welcome Center. Orders are due by Sunday, April 7.

Book of the Month - The book selected is Too Busy Not Too Pray by Bill Hybels. Pastor Ebert will lead the book discussion on Saturday, May 11, at 9:30 am in the school library. Used books at a great price are available at Amazon.com or from the Frank L. Weyenberg Library. Malawi Disability Ministry Bicycle Project—Volunteers on heavy-duty bicycles bring the Gospel to the disabled in Malawi, where children with disabilities grow up as outcasts. They offer help, healing and the accepting community of Christ to the disabled and their families. Now serving over 20 villages, their goal is to reach over 100. To accomplish this, more bicycles are needed—each costing $250. We will be collecting until May 31, 2019. To donate to this project, use the blue envelope and designate— Bicycles for Malawi. Make checks payable to Christ Alone Lutheran Church.

School News – Students return after spring break for the final two months of school. Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for Tuesday, April 2. The congregation is invited to come see student art displayed in the fellowship hall Wednesday and Thursday. Many of these projects will travel to KML for Family Music Night and Art Fair, Friday, April 12, 5-9 pm. Our school board is serving up the burgers and dogs this Wednesday, April 3, after the afternoon Lent service - stop in and say 'Hello!'

OTHER EVENTS IN THE WELS

Hymn Festival Concert - The Kettle Moraine Lutheran Adult Chorale will present its spring concert at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 1292 Tally Ho Trail (on Hubertus Road) in Hubertus, on Sunday, April 7, at 4:00 p.m. The concert will be a hymn festival, featuring several hymns and hymn-based anthems for the Epiphany, Lent, and Easter seasons. Many of the songs in the concert will also include participation from the assembly, accompanied by organ, brass, handbells, percussion, and other instruments. A freewill offering will be gathered. Koiné Music Ministries - We have 2 Lenten Events. The first is Footsteps to The Cross at the Oconomowoc Arts Center - Thursday, April 11 at 6pm. This is a musical passion play told through hymns, scriptural narration, and video projection. It tells of Jesus’s journey from the Mount of Transfiguration to Mount Calvary. The second is Tenebrae at Mt. Calvary Lutheran in Waukesha - Friday, April 19 at 1 and

6:30pm. Our Tenebrae Service is also told through hymns, scriptural narration, and video projection, but is an adaptation of the historic Tenebrae Service. Planning Your Future Seminar - KML is hosting a special estate planning seminar on Wednesday, April 24, at 6:30 PM. Attorney Lou Briska will give valuable information and answer questions regarding the estate-planning process. This seminar is free to attend, but save your spot by contacting Mr. Paul Snamiska (262-677-4051 x1116; [email protected]).

Seminary Scurry – The Seminary Scurry will be held on Saturday, May 4th.The events happening include a Kid's Dash, 5k run/walk, and a free meal after for everyone. All participants 18 years and younger can run either race for free. The cost for those older than 18 years is $20. All race participants will receive some seminary swag and this year's Seminary Scurry t-shirt. https://www.wls.wels.net/seminary-scurry-2019/ Coffee Talks - "No one told me what my choice would do to my heart." Whether two months ago or 20 years ago-if you are affected by a past abortion, there is hope! Join WELS Lutheran for Life on April 27th for Coffee Talks, an event focused on those touched by abortion. This event will be from 9:30 until 11:30 AM at APS Medical (8501 W. Lincoln Avenue, West Allis). Morning refreshments will be provided. Throughout the morning, you will be able to hear how others cope. Your confidentiality and anonymity will be respected and there is no expectation to share your experience.
