Chipotle + Rhinegeist Samantha Morgan

Some of the #480Jedi’s met at chipotle at 6:30 on Thursday. From there we bought our food and left at the same time for Rhinegeist Brewery. Although parking was a little tough, we all arrived just after 7. We went up to the bar and ordered our beers and sat down at the tables and began to eat and chat about our spring break trips and classes we were taking. Come to find out, we all have a lot in common! It was great to chat with a group of people outside of the normal company we keep. We decided to start talking to the gentleman next to us who was also enjoying a Rhinegeist brew. We offered him our Chipotle since we had an extra, and although a little put off by it, he accepted. After a while, we found out that “Ben” was a 35 year old bartender from the Cincinnati area and come to find out is a huge craft beer fan. This was his first visit to Rhinegeist and so far, he was LOVING it. His first remark was about how he could see the brewers working and all of the equipment, and that seemed to be one of his favorite things. Even the long lines did not bother him because that told him people were enjoying themselves and the beer was good. He heard about Rhinegeist from Cincinnati.com and had been buying it from places such as Kroger, convenience stores and local bars. The price did not bother him either, seeing as he is a bartender and visits many craft breweries, he thought the price was great for the quality of beer and supporting a local business. It seems as though his only negative remark was the lack of food at Rhinegeist (but hey, we fixed that for him!). Ben was really great about talking with us and you could tell he was really into Rhinegeist, and he even mentioned he’d be making the effort to visit more. Overall, this trip was a success. Although I am not a huge beer drinker, I still enjoyed the semi-dry cider and company! The Ghost seems to really captivate people, even those who are not the biggest craft beer drinkers. The space was so open and fun, it was hard to not have a good time!
