Bracknell Forest Council Children’s Centres “Making a difference every day” The Children’s Centres operate a ‘No Mobile Phone Policy’ Spring Term 2018 Activity Programme Refreshments are provided at some of our sessions. However, if your child requires a snack whilst in the centre, please provide a healthy one. Most of the sessions are fully funded by the Children’s Centres. However, donations are gratefully received and help us to cover refreshments and/or materials costs. Spring Term 2018 Activity Programme

Refreshments are provided at some of our sessions. However, if your child requires a snack whilst in the centre, please provide a healthy one.

Slimming World ReferralsThe Children’s Centres can give registered parents and carers a free 12 week referral to Slimming World. If you have a BMI over 30, aren’t pregnant, haven’t attended a Slimming World class within the last 3 months and haven’t received a free referral before, then you can apply. Pop up ParentingOne to one advice and support on any parenting related questions. Please contact any Children’s Centre to book an appointment.

Baby PEEP

A 10 week course designed to help you discover how opportunities you give to your baby at an early age can help with their long term development. During the sessions we will provide information to help you support their development, learn songs and rhymes, a story time, play ideas – all appropriate to the age group, and a talk time for adults.Please contact any Children’s Centre to book a place.

Baby Massage

A four week course in baby massage to learn easy techniques to help you and your baby relax together, relieve the discomfort of colic, constipation and improve sleep patterns. This course costs £10.60 and must be booked and paid for in advance to secure a place. Please contact any Children’s Centre to book.

Baby Weighing ClinicA drop in session provided by the Health Visitors. You can weigh your baby and health visitors are on hand to give advice.

CABCitizen Advice Bureau appointments are available to book in most Children’s Cen-tres. Please contact any Children’s Centre to book a place.

Family Play TogetherFamily Messy PlayToddler Time

Drop in play sessions for parents/carers and their children aged under 5 years.An opportunity to meet other parents/carers whilst playing with your children and supporting their development while learning through play.Please bring a change of clothes for family messy play.

Family Soft PlayA fun way to help your child with their confidence and physical skills. A chance for children to climb, jump, slide and explore movement.

Fantastic Food FindersA six week course designed to help you enjoy a healthy lifestyle, giving parents the skills to plan and cook healthy well balanced meals. A free crèche is provided which must be booked in advance. Please contact any Children’s Centre to book.

Journey to ParenthoodAn antenatal group for expectant mothers and their partners, family members or birthing partners, covering a wide range of topics including baby’s development in the womb, labour, feeding and understanding your new born’s needs.

PANDAA drop in support group for the families affected by Postnatal / Antenatal Depression and other perinatal mental health issues.

Singing Sessions Join us for fun singing and actions sessions. No need to book.

Speech and LanguageDrop In

Drop in service. If you have concerns about your child’s speech and language development please drop into the centre where they can be assessed by a speech and language therapist. Places are on a first come first served basis.

Understanding your Baby

A 5/6 week course designed for new parents/carers with babies up to 4 months of age. The course encourages parents/carers to think about their relationship with their baby and supports parents/carers to recognise their feelings, whilst looking at sleep, feeding, crying and baby development. Please contact any Children’s Centre to book a place.

Understanding your Child

A 10 week course to help parents/carers develop confidence and knowledge. Learn what children really need, how to manage children’s behaviour, about their development and emotional security. Please contact any Children’s Centre to book a place.
