Text

The font for this book is New Times Roman which is easy to read and also looks good in the context of a children's book. The text is kept to a minimum in the book which gives the reader more time to focus on the images the are very detailed and well drawn.

Hairy Maclary Scattercat

Hairy Maclary Scattercat uses the layout of one picture and one line. On one page is the Image for that page and on the next is the caption for the previous page’s image.

Hairy Maclary Scattercat was written by Lynley Dodd and published by Puffin.

Pictures

The pictures in this book are illustrations that look like they have been hand drawn

with pencils. This is a really good technique for a children’s book as they would usually

draw pictures using pencils and paper so that if a child sees the picture they instantly

recognize the drawing style.

Peace at Last

The layout for this book is very similar to the previous book but one on page it has the text with a very small illustration which isn’t coloured in and then the page next to it has one large coloured in image.

PicturesThe illustrations in this boom are very clear and

full of different shades and drawing styles. Some

of the pictures have patterns in them that look

like they could’ve been made on a computer

whereas some of the images look like they were

hand drawn.
