Blessing of the AnimalsBlessing of the Animals

The Blessing takes place at 2.00pm when Fr. Seamus Whitney and Rev’d

Peter Tarleton will jointly preside and say some kind and special words for,

and about, our animals - those with us today and those who passed away.

Before the blessing starts we will all have a chance to fill out one or more

paper strips. On these we write the name(s) of animals we have lost and who

were dear to us. We can also write names of animals we still have but could

not bring today.

Dog Agility CourseDog Agility Course

Dog agility is a great way for you and your dog to bond. It is a fun and good form of exercise for your dog. It requires control and

coordination from the handler to guide your dog through an obstacle course of jumps, weaves and tunnels.

Any size, breed, and age of dog can be taught agility.

We are very happy and exited that Carlow Dog Training Club will be in Duckett’s Grove with their agility course. Billy and the team will tell you about agility; they will show you agility, and they will take your dog around the course.

Bubble SoccerBubble Soccer

The inflatable soccer pitch will be up all weekend and will be available for a bit of footy.

On Sunday afternoon from 3pm till 6pm we will turn the pitch, and the world, upside down when we play Bubble Soccer.

Register your interest to take part. Teams of 5 players per side will compete and nobody will worry about who wins. It is all about the FUN! -Who will post the 1st video on our Facebook page???

To be part of a team costs €5 per person per match. Matches are 15 minutes each.

Yes, that is win- win for all.

ASH Animal Rescue is one of the largest animal shelters in Ireland. We

have over 200 animals at all times. These are mostly dogs and cats, with a

few farm and wildlife animals too.

ASH operates a strict NO KILL policy.

It costs about €180,000 per year to run the centre in its current format. The Department of Agriculture has kindly given us a grant of €20,000 this year. We have to raise a staggering €160,000 to keep saving lives of straying and unwanted animals. Keep in mind this is only operational costs and does not allow for any further development or improvements to the centre.

Pets’ CornerPets’ Corner
