Program Name: Children’s Achievement Center (Tucson)

Description: The Center enrolls children of all abilities between the ages of eight weeks until kindergarten eligible. We follow an individualized, emergent curriculum that is framed around the Arizona Early Learning Standards and the Infant/ Toddler Developmental Guidelines. Children’s development is tracked using Teaching Strategies Gold with parent conferences held four times per year. The Center has a capacity for 102 children and employs 30 full time staff. The Center is rated 4 Stars by Quality First, a program of Arizona First Things First.

Description: Designed to increase the capacity of qualified early care and education programs to include and serve children, from birth to age five, with special health and/or developmental needs. ECEI+ provides a comprehensive system of supports to improve the skill level of childcare/preschool staff that includes on-site coaching and targeted technical assistance, group based training, professional development, ongoing classroom and teacher assessments, teacher and classroom plan development (based on assessment data), service coordination with child’s special service providers, and connecting families with resources.

Program Name: Inspire Inclusion Community of Practice

Description: Inspire Inclusion provides professional development and college courses covering topics of inclusion and social emotional development. As the classes work and learn together, the cohort members build a supportive community that fosters change in ideas and attitudes surrounding inclusion and challenging behavior. We also offer monthly Conversations on Inclusion that introduce inclusion topics to the participants and help recruit members for future cohorts. Coaching on inclusion is offered to all cohort members enrolled in the classes. Through these three areas we are able to reach many child care providers and improve understanding on inclusion and accessibility to high quality inclusive classrooms.

Program Name: Quality First

Description: Provides technical assistance and coaching for family child care providers, child

care centers, and public preschools to improve the quality of child care provided. The assessments are used to provide a comprehensive look at all areas of programming and provide feedback about which areas are strong and which need additional work. Participants are supported by a coach 4-8 hours each month and given financial incentives and access to additional technical assistance providers. ESBF is part of a collaborative that includes Southwest Human Development, Child and Family Resources, and the Association for Supportive Child Care.

Program Name: Newborn Intensive Care Program (NICP)

Description: Community nursing services are provided to facilitate the transition of the child and family from the Newborn Intensive Care Unit to their home and community. Periodic monitoring of the child's medical and developmental needs identifies infants who would benefit from referral to other early intervention programs. Through these home visits, the family receives support and education as well as referral to appropriate community resources.

Description: Comprehensive voluntary home visitation program for first time, high-risk mothers who are paired with a Registered Nurse when the mother is prenatal through the child’s second birthday.
