http://www.cwdcouncil.org.uk/playwork to find out more. Please note that this list of institutions is not exhaustive. Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) is not a qualification: it is a new status that will recognise your expertise as a practitioner and a professional leader (Children's Workforce Development Council, 2006). The Government's aim is to have an Early Years Professional in every full daycare setting by 2015. To become an Early Years Professional (EYP), you need to gain Early Years Professional Status. The first five years of life are pivotal in a child’s development. High quality early years provision can help children achieve their potential and support parents and families. This requires a well trained, well supported and motivated workforce – that’s where you come in. EYPS will be key to raising the quality of provision in early years settings, leading practice across the Early Years Foundation Stage and being a role model for other practitioners in safeguarding and supporting children's learning and development. The status is awarded to people who can demonstrate that they meet a set of national graduate-level EYP Standards when working with children from birth to five. You can find out more about becoming an EYP and where you can gain this status by following this link: http://www.cwdcouncil.org.uk/eyps.
