Child Labour in the industrial Revolution

England‘s industrial Revolution was a big moment in history because it was the time of the new inventions helping people do things faster and more efficient. With all the Children on the streets who were poor they had no choice but to work in the factories or the field for extra money to support themselves and their families who needed everyone in the family to work. Many children did not have access to education because it was no compulsory so many working class children could read and write. Children working in these factories fields and others were working at the earliest age they could and sustained many injuries affecting the growth of their body, hearing and also if they did not work hard enough they would be beaten. These children already work long hard hours but sometimes their working conditions force them to work long overtime shifts and also children working in the mills lived a very hard and most of the time short life. The new inventions and machines that were made in this time made thing faster and efficient to do but were more dangerous for children to operate and usually a jammed machine meant because kids have smaller hand they had to un jam it and this usually ended in cut of or broken fingers due to the dangerous motors and contraptions

Many children in Mexico can not afford there basic needs to survive like we do. Children are forced to world long strenuous hours everyday to make only little wage to support them selves. Families everywhere in Mexico are forced to send their children away because most families are in poverty. There are as much as 6 million children in Mexico age that are put to work everyday, there age ranging from 6 up to 18. Child labours in Mexico work a number of different jobs and some of these jobs are very dangerous and unsafe but people still choose to make them work long strenuous hours. Many children working in jobs such as agriculture and mining suffer from many injuries from all of the hard equipment they have to use, these kids suffer from broken bones, cuts, bruises and also diseases and illnesses from the harmful chemicals and air being sprayed or put into the air. The working conditions of these kids are terrible but its better than the streets they would have been on if not been working these jobs. The work conditions of child usually consisted of long hard strenuous hours in fields factories etc. Working in these places meant they got no brakes, minimal wages and if working in agriculture some children would die from a mixture of heatstroke and illnesses they might of contracted.

Jobs

Similarities The jobs in child labour back in the industrial revolution are fairly the same with child labours in Mexico today with some differences too. Working in agriculture to mining children still have to do mainly the same jobs. In agriculture children both then and now have to work long hard hours in the fields planting and harvesting many crops using dangerous and heavy equipment which could lead to many injuries. Back in the industrial revolution kids were forced to do jobs they didn't want to help support their family who would typically be very poor. Another similar job is mining. Mexico is known for its resources of gold silver copper etc. And England is known for its coal so they are similar because both children were exposed to many harmful toxins and chemicals in the caves they were in. Lastly the third similar job is what‘s known as the carpet weaver today but a textile worker in the past, these kids using there small hands would weave carpets all day kids would sit by a machine making cloths. Just as in the industrial revolution working conditions for these kids very poor. People would treat them in terrible ways by not giving them brakes and also abusing them if they didn't work hard enough. Another similarity between the jobs both in Mexico and industrial revolution was the child prostitution happening. Many people would be so hungry and desperate they were forced to sell away there body to desperate and disgusting people.

DifferencesThe differences between Mexico child labours and the industrial revolution was that that new inventions and machines were being made to help people make things such as cloths faster and more efficient in the industrial revolution. This was a difference from Mexico today because children mainly worked in the factories using the new dangerous machines this was different from Mexico which now a days not alot of children work I the factories because new creations have allowed them to work mechanically by themselves though there are some kids that‘s do its not very common. Another difference between Mexico and the industrial revolution jobs was that even though they were treated poorly back in the industrial design they were treated even worse getting beaten or abused to death frequently and also having to un jam machines with there little fingers which some of the time would be chopped off. Which in Mexico kids are still abused and beaten but the do somewhat take care off them rather than in the industrial revolution where people really didn't care if they died. Another difference in jobs is today there is child trafficking which puts kids in a dangerous busy road directing traffic in Mexico. This is different from the industrial design because people did not have cars ye because they were not popular and rairly made.

Why did they have to work?Similarities

Child labours both in Mexico and England have the same reasoning of working in those poor conditions they call jobs. Mostly all of child labour from the ones in the industrial design to Mexico today all had to leave their families due to poverty and stability of their family. Children have to work for minimal wages to get some kind of food in there stomach. Even though child labour should be prohibited it keeps kids from being in poverty on the street dying of hunger and such. Children in child labour are mainly kids who are uneducated and have no way of getting it due to their financial status even though it was not that popular to go to school in the industrial revolution if you weren‘t in the upper class or high business middle class. Another reason kids would have to work in labouring conditions was if their family had to pay a debt of some sort and could not pay it so they are forced to have the entire family working to pay it off.

Back in the industrial revolution child labours were not really recognized and people did not know what a hard troubled life they had and what their working conditions were. People in England did not help the poor helpless kids in these industries due to unrecognition and not knowing what‘s happening around them and truly people did not care but a difference to know a days in Mexico was people truly do care to make a difference in the world and are not going to stop till people get the right education and stop working for people being child labours. Today in Mexico some of the big organization trying to stop child labour would be international labour organization winch provided kids with better working condition and education. Another organization would be free the children is devoted to kids all around the world including Mexico trying to help the kids working find a way to help them not by giving them a education they've always dreamed off. Lastly another organization would be its own federal law exempting children to work past 10pm and restricting their work hours to 6per day helping kids all in Mexico.

City Population

SimilaritiesMaxico is a very big populate country with its capital Mexico city being the 17 most populated city in the world. Mexico city being that populated means that the main attractions and jobs are based in that city, just like England was in the industrial revolution. A similarity between then and now was because most of the people went to the populated city were everything was led to two things 1. Being that if people left the country side to go to the city meant that the farm or agriculture needed more people which gave child labour a new job to do for people which again led to more labour work with children. 2. The more people moving to the city created more business and work such a stores selling clothes blankets etc. This also increased child labour in both Mexico and industrial revolution because behind the walls of a store or business are children making these things such as clothes etc.

Working conditionsDifference

Although all child labours aren’t treated up to par there has been a break threw in the past years from the industrial revolution till now a days Mexico. Back in the industrial revolution children were not even cared for at all they meant nothing to no one that‘s why they made them use the heavy and dangerous items because they did not care if one of them were to get there hand jammed and ripped off or if the chemicals and air around them killed them or gave them diseases people did not care they just wanted work done and if a child were to die on the job they would just bring a new one in replacing the child as if it were worthless. But today in Mexico during child lab or even though they still go threw some pretty harsh condition they are taken care of more than they used to be by giving them some kinds of food and minimal wags that is just enough to get them through life. Another upgrade form the industrial revolution is with all the organizations and federal laws being put in place it gives certain kids a new life by providing them with education and a home also restricting them from working a certain number of hours everyday is a sure upgrade from working day in night with no breaks and no chance of saviour due to organizations.

Similarities

Mexico is very high in the resources that they produce in their country. Mexico is known for there oil, silver, gold, zinc and also lumber as well as England who produces oil coal and also lumber. These resources they produce contributed to the child labour happening both now in Mexico and the industrial revolution bye how they get them. Children are put to work in mines and caves working in dangerous conditions to get these minerals and oils underground and in rocks. Children both now and then working in the mining business suffered from many injuries and diseases from the hard manual equipment to the harsh chemicals and air that do harm on the lung underground, children are also at a chance of the mine or cave collapsing in on them. Another similarity between then and now was the reason why they were put in these mines. People who put these kids to work in the mines make them do it because people would rather of taken a child's life rather than a grown person.

General Wealth of the CountrySimilarity

A similarity that Mexico and England in the industrial revolution shared was the general wealth of the country. Today Mexico GDP was 411 billion which is the general wealth of the country. Back in the industrial revolution England was a generally wealthy country too. But as in both they have a lot of poverty in both there country’s. Generally both country‘s wealth came from there main attraction which would be there city’s, in Mexico city there is more people populating that‘s city alone it is almost the amount of the whole country. In both city‘s and country‘s the general wealth of the country affected the child labour both then and now because of the businesses and stores being built due to the wealth of the country‘s. Having this wealth and poverty in both in the country‘s cause more people to move to the city which end in more workers who eventually begin to be more and more child labours. In conclusion both city‘s with their wealth and poverty contributed to the child labour happening in their country.
