Ghosts, monsters and pumpkins have decorat-
ed our classroom for Halloween. We had a great time
on our trip to Green Meadows Farm, where we went on
a hayride to enjoy the fall foliage, fed many different
animals and even milked a cow! Then, we picked out
the perfect pumpkins. Our trip
would never happen without our parent volunteers,
so I extend a big thank you to all those who attend-
ed! On Halloween, princesses, superheroes and even
Santa walked the hallway! Our Halloween Party and
Parade were very memorable. A big thank you to all
the parents and teachers for participating in this spe-
cial day.
This month we learned all about community helpers and discussed
what we want to be when we grow up! The firefighters even came for a visit
and let us climb into their fire truck! During Science, we learned about the
lifecycle of a pumpkin, watched a pumpkin ooze out blue liquid, discovered
interesting facts about bats, played with magnets and created our own mar-
ble runs. We’ve been working hard on the letters G, P, M
and B, and identifying and writing the numbers through
number 5. We are looking forward to an exciting month
in November filled with turkeys, pilgrims and Native
Americans and I can’t forget to mention our Thanksgiv-
ing Feast!

Preschool
“October, October, spooky October!” This month the
Preschool class enjoyed so many fun activities. The
children rode a school bus to Green Meadows Farm.
At the farm they enjoyed a hayride, petted many
animals, milked a cow and picked pumpkins. The
children agreed that the piglets were their favorite farm animal!
Another highlight this month was the visit from Freehold Township’s Fire De-
partment. The firefighters taught the class about fire safety. Then, the children
took turns climbing in the fire truck,
Our Halloween party and costume parade was a
huge success! The children really enjoyed showing
off their costumes and sharing the many treats they
brought to school. Thank you so much to all the
parents who contributed such tasty snacks!
Next month, we look forward to increasing our up-
percase letter recognition, improving our cutting
skills, picture day and our Thanksgiving Feast!
Toddlers
October was a month
of fun-filled activities!
Since it was Fire Pre-
vention month, the
Toddlers learned
about fire safety. How
exciting it was for us to
climb into the big red
firetruck and meet our
firefighter friends! We learned how to “stop,
drop and roll,” which was a lot of fun! We also
discussed how important our community helpers
are to our town, like our police officers, fire fight-
ers and doctors. The Toddlers did a fantastic job
decorating our room for Halloween! The Hallow-
een parade and party was a huge success! The
children loved showing off
their unique costumes.
Thank you to all the par-
ents who participated in
our Halloween party. In
November we will learn
about the meaning of
Thanksgiving and talk
about what we are thank-
ful for!
Waddlers
October was all about Fall
fun, fire safety and (of course) Hallow-
een! We began our month with two
birthday celebrations! Happy 2nd
birthday to Sofia and Jeremiah. We
celebrated with singing and cup-
cakes-delicious! We hope Sofia and Jeremiah had a great time.
We kicked off the month with a pumpkin theme. Our
favorite part was cutting open a pumpkin to see what is on the
inside! We played with the seeds and strings and even made a
craft.
We also enjoyed a visit from the fire department and
learned about fire safety. We even got to see Ms. Kim dress up
like a fireman! Then it was time to climb up onto the fire truck to
pretend to be real firemen. It was a lot of fun. The kids contin-
ued to be fire boys and girls in the classroom by making firemen
masks and painting fire dogs!
You can’t help but feel the Halloween spirit when you
walk into the classroom. There are deco-
rations and crafts hanging up every-
where to help us celebrate. We made
pumpkins and ghosts. We sang our fa-
vorite Halloween chant, “Five Little
Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate.” We con-
cluded the month with a Halloween par-
ty and parade. It was fantastic! Thank
you to the parents for their contributions.
Next up, THANKSGIVING!
Infants
This month, Casey is transitioning to
the Waddler room. In November, she will offi-
cially be joining their bunch! We will wel-
come a new Curious Crawler in November..
We look forward to meeting Holden!
We have really enjoyed the beautiful
weather by taking stroller rides on many af-
ternoons in the autumn sun! We have been
watching the leaves change colors to wel-
come the season!
We loved being part
of the our little pumpkins’ first
Halloween Parade! All the
children were so cute! Hap-
py Halloween to all!

Director’s Corner
It’s hard to believe October has already come to an end!
It was a busy month for us in Child Care; we had fun on
our petting zoo and pumpkin trip and enjoyed the visit
from the Freehold Township Fire Department. We loved
seeing all of the children in their Halloween costumes dur-
ing our parade...and the teachers, too! I want to thank all
of the parents who were able to attend the parade and
our Back to School Night. For those who could not attend,
please don’t hesitate to stop in the office if you have any
questions or concerns.
I always welcome parent suggestions as well, so if there is
something you would like to see us do that we are not
already, please don’t hesitate to let me know! My goal is
to make this Child Care program better and more
successful every day, but that certainly can’t be done
alone. I appreciate all of the staff and parents who help to
make this program great, but let me know how we can
make it even better together!
Here’s to a healthy and happy November!
