The aim of the Chief Heritage is to: Establish new arts and heritage institutions and recast existing
monuments and histories
Promote and establish conversation bodies by proclaiming new heritage institutions that redress neglected histories
Promoting heritage preservation in South Africa by providing support and funding to organisations that preserve and promote heritage.
Management and oversight of the South African Geographical Names Council and development of an authoritative database of geographical names
