Fisher Chemical solvents for GC Headspace

The determination of residual solvents (organic volatile impurities) by GC headspace is an important

quality control procedure in the pharmaceutical industry. Residual solvent testing is defined in

accordance with the ICH1 and required by USP and Ph. Eur. The technique requires extraction of

residual solvents from the sample using a high purity solvent free of contaminants that could interfere

with GC analysis by co-eluting with the peaks of interest.

Key Features of Fisher Chemical GC Headspace Solvents

• Processed to high purity for accurate and repeatable determination of trace levels of Class

1, Class 2, and Class 3 residual solvents in pharmaceuticals

• Tested by UV absorbance to ensure low organic contamination

• Processed for low water content to facilitate the extraction of organic volatile impurities

• Packaged in an inert atmosphere to maximize shelf life in unopened containers

Alloys

We offer a wide variety of alloys in several compositions and forms. Our range of alloys contains

over 250 products.

Aluminum alloys for use in many industries such as equipment, machinery, vehicles and various

specialized applications. Copper alloys are the less expensive option than gold and platinum and

provide incomparable heat and thermal performance. Nickel and

stainless steel alloys are available and are used widely within the

chemical industry.

Evaporation materials

Our product line consists of a compiled broad representation of the

more commonly used materials for evaporating and

crystal growing applications. All purities are based on total metallic impurities unless otherwise

specified.

All products designated as Puratronic® or REacton® grade are automatically supplied with a

Certificate of Analysis (COA).

This certificate details elements sought, detection limits and total metallic impurity levels in

parts per million. Purities are based on Total Metallic Impurities (TMI). Tolerances for metal are

normally +/- 10% of listed value unless specifically identified.

If your need is for precious metal labware, then trust the precious metal experts the next

time you need the tolerance of platinum or other precious metal labware. Alfa Aesar lab-

ware is competitively priced on a daily basis and standard items are in stock for immediate

shipment.

Only a few metals are required to produce a wide array of durable labware. The basic nob-

le metals group consists of platinum, rhodium, ruthenium, osmium, palladium, iridium,

gold and silver. Ruthenium and osmium, however, are unworkable in their pure form and

are only offered under special circumstances.

Your supplier for:

Hydrogen, zero air, and nitrogen generators for GC and LC-MS applications

Why should you go for in-situ gas generation?

• Costs reduction

• Availability: Main sources for nitrogen, hydrogen and pure air are free and available everywhere

• The move from Helium to Hydrogen :Helium is relatively rare on earth, cannot be produced,

and prices have risen steadily in the last decade. An available alternative exist for gas

chromatography with high purity hydrogen.

• Safety improvement : minimal storage of hydrogen and nitrogen, gas on demand,

Self-monitoring and automatic shutdown and no transport.

• Ergonomics and convenience improvement

• Space recovering: The footprint of a modern gas generator is many times less than a rack

of cylinders

• Carbon footprint reduction of your lab

Why Cubanes?

Cubanes have recently been highlighted in the scientific literature as useful chemical tools

for bioisosteric replacement of aromatic groups. Cubanes are rigid scaffolds. Our range of cuba-

nes have one or two exit vectors positioned in a linear manner (1,4-substitution), thereby

mimicking the para substitution pattern on arenes.

Cubanes are three-dimensional fragments and were shown to display equivalent or improved

physico-chemical and pharmaco-kinetic properties compared to the arene groups they are

replacing. Therefore, when the arene group is serving as a spacer/scaffold and is not involved in Pi

interactions with the biological target, switching to the corresponding cubane is strongly

recommended.

We also postulate that mono-substituted cubanes can also serve as lipophilic group replacement and

can be considered as bioisosteres of tert-butyl groups. Cubanes are now standard components of our

LipoSwitch kits and services.

Why SpiroChem?

SpiroChem is a world-leading player in the design, synthesis and manufacturing of Cubanes. Most of

the Cubanes can be offered on multi-gram scale and up to kilogram scale, in a short lead time and

are affordable to support your drug discovery programs and beyond.

SpiroChem can provide these advanced building blocks containing Cubanes from our comprehensi-

ve catalog, but also design synthetic routes to new series that are fit for your applications and that

will facilitate their introduction in your molecules of interest, thereby reducing the amount of synthetic

work that needs to be done and allowing you to focus on high-value- added transformations.
