You may haveseen the banners from supporters clubsaround the globe gracing the stands atStamford Bridge; well, we are all over it.After some amount of planning withChelsea, we have an agreement. Allregional/local clubs with at least 20members can have a banner at theBridge (so far 13 of our 21 clubs have

qualified with 3 clubs nearly there!) aof course a large CIA banner as well.Designs have been done and are beinfinalized, manufacturing certificationhave been approved, so all we need tdo is get final design approval and thget them made and mailed to ChelseBut they do cost money! It is a huge and something we need help in fundSo if you are interested in donating acouple of dollars to the cause, let meknow, let your club head know or youcan send donations to us through pa([email protected]). Howcool would it be to have nearly 100 fof banners at The Bridge from CIA anthe USA!!

not already renewed your membershwith either or both, please dont delaChelsea may still o"er membership, the supporters clubs will not add newmembers after the end of December that means if you are planning a tripover, we at CIA cannot help you withtickets.!

I don't watch Serie A. I have no interestin the Italian national team. Therefore, Iknew little about Carlo Ancelotti beforehe came to our club, apart from the factthat everyone liked to make fun of howold his Milan team were becoming. Iguess it made sense then that he cameto coach Chelsea, where everyone inEngland likes to make fun of how oldour team seems to be getting.

So I started reading The BeautifulGames of an Ordinary Genius,Ancelotti's autobiography, not reallyknowing what to expect as the onlyimpression I had of the man was the oneI had made during his first seasoncoaching our Blues. He immediately won

my heart further with his opening linesof the book, comparing Yuri Zhirkov to adelicious steak.

You discover quickly that food is one ofCarlo's loves in life - he enjoys a goodpasta and many of his memoriesinvolves a meal of some sort. He tells astory of picking up a knee injury duringhis playing days with Roma and the firstthought going through his mind was of ateammate's mom's fettucine.

The book is an interesting insight intothe mind of a player and coach as itcovers Ancelotti's career in Italy as both. He's not afraid to poke fun at himselfand others, but he is also honest in hisopinions towards those he has workedwith, such as Fabio Capello, Sven-GoranEriksson, Zidane, even Gianfranco Zola.He talks about his successes andtrophies won (and who kept taking theEuropean Cup to bed with him!) as wellas disappointments (that famousEuropean night in Istanbul), his

It was awonderful sight to see, and for fans itwas a great way to remember and honorThe King of the Bridge. Chelsea alsoheld events throughout their supportersclubs worldwide, including a donationdrive for the Peter Osgood Trust thatfans were eager to be involved with.!Allof the donated funds went towards theFoundations Football+ program, whichenables people with disabilities to

participate in regular, organizedmatches and coaching sessions in a safeand enjoyable environment. The Football+ program encourages players withdisabilities to develop their health andindependence while realizing theirpotential, o"ering regular sessions withspecialist coaches at local schools andsports centers as well as day longtournaments.!

FIRST TRIP TO THE BRIDGE - JUNIOR BLUES REPORT

inspirations and, of course, hisfavorite foods.

If you're looking for juicy detailsabout Chelsea, you won't get too

many. He mentions meeting withRoman Abramovich, discusses theBlues in the first chapter, talks abouDrogba and the Ivory Coast, butdoesn't get into extreme detail abohis first season in charge at ChelseaFC. That'll be another book foranother time, hopefully discussingour future successes!

The Beautiful Games of an OrdinaGenius is engaging and amusing. When Carlo speaks in post-matchinterviews and press conferences, t

language barrier still exists as hisEnglish vocabulary is limited, so thebook's translation is a great way to"hear" him express himself furtherthan just saying that "this is a goodbad moment". I recommend reading- if only so that you don't get caughout during a game of the BrigandChief!

Since I was twomy favoriteteam has alwaysbeen Chelsea.FrankieLampard is myfavorite player. Itry always to geta 8 like him onmy shirt for my

team. I had one this year, but then theyswitched me to 3. My dad says thatsAshley Cole, so I like it.!

Sometimes I watch matches with mydaddy. He screams and jumps. My friendOwen gave me a red shirt for Man

United, but daddy wouldnt let me wearit. He says its rubbish. He sold it on

ebay and bought a Chelsea scarf for us. Ilike Blue anyway because Blue is theColor! We sing that song in the car a lot.He taught me other Chelsea songs too,but sometimes he says bleep insteadof the real words. Hes funny.!

Making the video was fun. I always wantto watch it. My dad even has it on hisphone so we can watch when were notat home. Chelsea! Chelsea! Chelsea!!

A bit about the video, from Josh:!

We originally made this video for the UStour contest last summerand the videowe entered was actually our seconde"ort. We did a much better versionwhere Addie was in a jersey, looked inthe camera the whole time, the shotswere framed betterbut the sound wascorrupted when I uploaded it! By the

time I figuredthat all out, it

was pastAddie's bedtime(thats whyshes in PJs) andthe only way Icould get her todo it again wasby bribing herwith Barney(hence thereason she iswatching the TVbehind me, instead of looking in thecamera.). Then I had to shoot and ed

in 30 minutes to make the originaldeadline.!

Oh well. It was fun! And it was excitinto see it place third place, too. Addieloves seeing herself on the Chelseawebsite. KTBFFH!

Josh Hampton and his daughter camein 3rd place in the Chelsea "Fans Give

    Us a Song" contest!

For years Chelsea fans have heard lots oftalk about the increased investmentsgoing into our youth academy. But sincethe likes of John Terry busted through tothe senior squad, our youngsters havehad a tough time getting playing timewith the team. That is seeminglychanging this season as our investmentsin the youth academy are staring to payo"and Carlo is willing to give some ofour talented kids a chance on the bigstage.

For my money, the most impressive kid

of the bunch is 17-year-old JoshMcEachran. While hes a new sight tomany Chelsea fans, Josh has been withthe club since he was eight and been aregular in the youth team. On the seniorlevel he seems comfortable on the balland thus far has shown poise on thepitch usually only seen by experiencedveterans. And with so many injuriesplaguing our midfield at the moment,McEachran is likely to see even moreplaying time. With that in mind, letsrecap the pertinent info on Chelseasstar in the making.

    !!!!!!

McEachran was born in 1993 in Oxford,so hes not only a potential star forChelsea the England national squad ishoping that McEachran can turn into

another midfield powerhouse. Hesalready been capped in the Englandunder-17 side that won the EuropeanChampionship. Josh is no stranger tosilverware, having won the FA Youth Cupwith Chelsea just a few weeks beforeEnglands victory.!!!!!!

In addition to picking up some serioussilverware, McEachran has alreadyentered the record books. When hemade his competitive debut for Chelseaearlier this season in the championsleague match at Zilina, McEachran

became the first player to be involvedtournament who was younger than thtournament itself (the tournamentstarted in 1992).!!!!!!

As a player, McEachran favors his leftfoot and is comfortable playing on thleft side or center of the midfield. Heknown for his ability to keep possessand provide an attacking threat. Hmmsounds like a younger version of anosuper English midfielder on our boono? Heres hoping that were lookingour next Frank Lampard.

Across!3.!One of the oldest grounds, frequentedat times by ardent fan Robert Plant, theland has gone from a house to a hotel toa pleasure park (but never held wilddogs) to a stadium -the first to installfloodlights in England.

6.!A fancy name for an Arab library, atime traveller could be mistaken forthinking they had arrived at a Chelseastadium of the early 21st century were itnot for the red, and of course theswathes of empty seats at the end ofgames against Chelsea.

8.!A ground with a wealth of tradition, officially called Aston Lower Grounds, this stadium cost a mere 16,400 tobuild back in 1897.

11.!The residents of this ground havecertainly been here long enough to havepaid off the mortgage one would hope!

13.!You might expect this ground to looklike a giant running shoe!

14.!This stadium was originally home toits current resident's bitter cross townrivals.

15.!This stadium has an unusual, if notprickly name, but if you knew what grewthere before the ground was built, itwould all make sense.

16.!You may well see players legally pickup the ball and run with it to score here, home of a team that loves playing ingrounds associated with sportmanufacturers (they also consideredplaying at the Reebok while this groundwas built).

17.!The toffee lady still walks the stepsbefore games selling her fare.

18.!Actually called the Boleyn Ground, this stadium is said to be haunted by oneof Anne Boleyn's maids, although themoaning is probably because of thequality of football she has to watch hereevery other week.

19.!While the spiritual home of legendSir Stanley Matthews, the resident teamcan hardly claim to "rule" as the stadiumname might suggest.

20.!Looked over by the Angel of theNorth, and located near the last gallowsin this city (which could have been used

for recent failed managers!), an Americannew to the sport could be confused at allthe referees in the stands at games.

Down!1.!Many would differ slightly from theresidents and call this the "Theater ofMuppets."

2.!There is a nice view of the Thamesfrom this almost still quaint venue.

4.!Built on the site of the old WearmouthColliery, the Davey Lamp outside theticket office is a nod to its name, nothinglike it's Portuguese namesake.

5.!Not bad for a council-owned footballpitch, and at one time home to theCommonwealth Games.

7.!Nothing to do with "The Royal andAncient", this is another of the oldergrounds in England - only a year youngerthan The Bridge and located in England's

    second city.

9.!Also a common pub name, thisground is looked over by a large broncockeral, or is it chicken?

10.!You are more likely to get sticks rock outside this ground than tangeri

12.!While folklore suggests it takes itname from a nearby Thames crossingthis magnificent ground of champion

and legends shares its name with thelocation of the last victorious battle oSaxon King Harold and has been thevenue for many other epic Englishvictories.! Anybody getting this onewrong will have their CIA membershirevoked!
