Laurent-Perrier
This year the Best Show Garden award was won by Lucino Giubbilei
for his work, the Laurent-Perrier garden. He is well known for his
fascination with form, texture and light and this is mimicked in the
winning garden.

Best Show Garden
Gold: Laurent-Perrier
The Laurent-Perrier garden invites a contrast between stillness and movement with materials such as
bold, brash leaves amongst delicate flowers.
The result is a peaceful space where you are free to be calm and simply observe the natural beauty.

Cape Cod helped inspire this garden after the artists went for a trip there together. The sand can easily be linked with the classic
Cape Cod landscape and sea shores.

The backdrop to the garden is created with roses and hydrangeas and the leather panelling depicts a
beautiful coastal scene.
The building in the garden is further inspired by their trip- in
particular Provincetown where the two artists stayed.

Like many things, this garden was inspired by the Italian Renaissance
gardens and mimics its ideals of class, glamour and the ideal
lifestyle.

Three Italian Riviera gardens- Palazzo Doria-Tursi, Villa Cambiaso
and Villa Durezzo-Centurione.
The historically inspired garden features water play from the Late Renaissance, sculptures from the Imperial Renaissance and clipped

This garden was created as a beautiful, visual representation of the road to recovery injured soldiers have to go
through when they are injured in service.
Granite blocks represent the soldiers physical wellbeing whereas plants are used to symbolise the mental health.

BBC/RHS People’s Choice Award: Help For Heroes Hope On The
Horizon
Untamed plants begin the garden and slowly become more controlled and
mature as you weave your way through. Hornbeams capture the eye at the end of the path with a sculpture of
a horizon to remind soldiers of the bright future ahead of them.
The spectacular sense of journey created in this garden made it Minster
Paving’s favourite!
