THE PERFORMERSSarah Nordin, Mezzo-Soprano raised by Opera News for the “clear beauty” of her voice and her “spot-on comic timing,” mezzo-soprano Sarah Nordin brings an exquisite blend of vocal artistry and strong dramatic instincts to a variety of repertoire across opera and concert stages. Ms. Nordin’s 2019-2020 season featured Sarah as Carmen in Carmen with the Missouri Symphony Orchestra, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro with Geneva Light Opera, Maddalena in Rigoletto with St Petersburg Opera and Buttercup in HMS Pinafore with First Coast Opera. Upcoming engagements include Adina in Elixir of Love with Gulf Coast Symphony, Angelina in La Cenerentola with Geneva Light Opera, Isabella in L’Italiana in Algeri with St Petersburg Opera and Nicklauss in Les Contes D’Hoffman with Opera Tampa.

Tyler Putnam, BassPossessing a voice described as “robust and resonant” by Theatre Mania and deemed a “standout” by Opera Magazine, bass-baritone Tyler Putnam brings a combination of intelligent musicianship and spirited dramatic interpretation to a wide variety of repertoire across the United States. In 2020, Mr. Putnam portrayed Colline in La Bohème with Lakeland Opera, Dick Deadeye in HMS Pinafore with First Coast Opera, and Agent Ashby in The Girl of the Golden West with Opera Orlando. Following engagements include Alidoro in La Cenerentola with Geneva Light Opera, Frank in Die Fledermaus with Opera Orlando and Banquo in Lady M, Heartbeat Opera’s new adaption of Verdi’s Macbeth which will presented entirely online. Mr. Putnam was scheduled to sing the role of The Pirate King in

The Pirates of Penzance with Opera Tampa before it was cancelled on opening night as a precaution due to COVID-19. That production has been rescheduled for 2021.

Deniz Uz, Collaborative Pianist Turkish American conductor Deniz Uz, has quickly distinguished himself as one of his generation’s most promising talents. Deeply committed to opera, he made his Gulfshore Opera debut last season as conductor for Amahl and the Night Visitors, and he returns this season to Opera Orlando to conduct the world premiere of The Death of Ivan Ilyich. In 2019, he was on the conducting staff of Des Moines Metro Opera, serving as Associate Conductor for Candide and as conductor for the company’s young artists’ gala. Mr. Uz has previously been engaged as music staff at Florida Grand Opera, Virginia Opera, Pensacola Opera, Opera Orlando, and the Orlando Philharmonic. He has also appeared with the

Budapest and Pensacola Symphony Orchestras, the Malta and Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestras, and Sinfonietta Cracovia. Mr. Uz holds a BA from Yale College and was valedictorian of his graduating class at the Interlochen Arts Academy.
