to ensure safety and enjoyment and reserves the right to deny admission and/or take disciplinary action

against any individual violating the code of conduct. A violation includes, but is not limited to, the use of

obscene language or gestures, disorderly conduct, theft, public intoxication, use of drugs, sexual

misconduct, indecency, harassment, failure to cooperate with staff, possession of weapons of any kind,

non-compliance with established policies and rules, any unlawful activity and any other behavior deemed

offensive or unacceptable. Staff will enforce this code of conduct.

Park Information

Ackfeld Park Ackfeld Park consists of a total of 6.8 acres of land.

It is located at the intersection of

Shrewsbury Avenue and Sutherland Ave. behind

the Police and Fire Station. The park has a ball field and two tennis

courts. A sand volleyball court is located east of

the aquatic center parking lot.

Brinkop Brinkop Park’s 3.4 acres are nestled in a beautiful residential area west of

the intersection at Nottingham and Laurella.

The park has a playground, ball field, multi-purpose court,

pavilion, and restroom facility.

Hartry Park Hartry Park is the

smallest park located in the City of Shrewsbury. The park is one acre of pure enjoyment and is located at 4100 Exeter

Ave. There is a playground and a

multi-purpose court for all to use.

Wehner Park Wehner Park is

Shrewsbury’s largest park consisting of 31.8 acres. This park contains three ball fields, one soccer

field, two pavilions, two playgrounds, and two tennis courts. Wehner Pavilion is located at

7600 Hazel Ave., and the Festival Site Pavilion is located at 5200 Lenox

Ave. .

We will start taking 2018 park rentals March 1st at 8:15am, Pavilions are open April-October

The Route 66 Viewing deck was deigned to further

enhance the quality of life for the residents and

community by showcasing a national landmark, His-

toric Route 66, with a local presence. It was also

designed to enhance the economic vitality of the

entire Watson Road Corridor between the Cities of

St. Louis and Sunset Hills.

The Sunset Room Your wedding day is a big day and requires a lot of planning. We are here to help you in whatever

way we can. Starting with our safe, convenient parking, and ending with our court yard, patio & spa-

cious event room. Our venue is the perfect place to make your wedding special. To help you along

the way we have a checklist for planning beginning a year out from the big day up to and including

your wedding day. Of course, you can plan any way you choose and our venue is flexible enough

that you can make your vision a reality. The Sunset Room holds up to 215 people. $500 Deposit

due at booking. This is refundable after the event as long as there is no damage and you are out of

the room on time.

Package A:

$800 Resident; $1300 Non Resident, Access to the room on the day of the event at 10am, must be cleaned up and out of the

room by the end of the contracted time. Access to an additional room on the second floor, for the wedding party.

Package B

$1500 Resident; $2000 Non-Resident,

Same as above

Choice of Access to rented room day prior or following event for extra setup or break down time.

Facility Rentals Multi-Purpose Room: Our multi-purpose room is perfect for reunions, hol-

iday parties, dances, anniversaries, birthdays and more. This room seats

up to 200 guests “party style” and up to 250 guests “theater style”. A prep

kitchen is available for storing and/or reheating food. Additionally, the room

has a built in stage area that can be utilized for presentations, or

announcements. There’s plenty of room to move around and mingle, so

make your next party a hit in our multi-purpose room. Deposit: $200 Sun-

Friday is $400 for residents, $550 for non-residents. Saturday: $500 resi-

dents, and $650 for non-residents, for five hours.

Knights Room

This room seats up to 50 people but can hold up to 40 people cocktail

style. The room comes with a mini fridge, sink, cable, round tables and

high top tables. This room is, perfect for showers, adult birthday parties,

or a small gathering! $75 deposit, this will be refunded as long as there

is no damage to the room. $40 for residents or $55 for non-residents per

hour.

Field Information

Meeting Rooms: For your next important meeting or special gathering, we’ve

got you covered. We have four meeting rooms that hold up to 40 guests “party

style” and up to 60 guests seated “theater style”. We also have one meeting

room holds up to 80 guests “party style” and up to 120 guests “theater style”.

Deposit: $50/$100, Residents: $30 per hour, Non-Residents $35per hour.

Do you need field space for your baseball, softball or soccer team to practice? The City of

Shrewsbury has fields available for rent!

Pool Rules

Guests must enter with a pass holder. Each resident pass holder may bring up to four guests.

Non-resident pass holders may bring up to two guests.

The pool will close at 4pm for home swim meets on June 19 and July 2.

No food, drinks, coolers or glass bottles may be brought into the Aquatic Center. Picnic Areas

are located outside of the gates.

Operating dates and times are subject to change.

On days with inclement weather or fewer than 20 guests in the facility, the aquatic center or por-

tions of the facility may not be open.

Aquatic Center Birthday Parties

Celebrate your child’s next birthday at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Center! Birthday Packages include

admission for up to twenty people with reserved tables and snacks. No food served after 6:30pm.

1st.

After Hours Pool Rentals

The Shrewsbury Family Aquatic Center can be rented out after hours for parties or other special

SHRIMP– For children 6 months to 3 years of age. In-

tended to develop comfort in and around the water. Par-

ent accompanies child in the pool.

SEAHORSE– For children at least 3 years of age.

Teaches buoyancy, breath control, and introduces basic

water skills.

STARFISH– Child learns unsupported floating, kicking,

and beginning swimming skills. Front crawl and back

crawl are introduced.

GUPPY– Children continue work on front crawl and

back crawl, learn elementary backstroke, and begin

diving.

FLIPPER– Child is introduced to sidestroke, deep wa-

ter bobbing, breaststroke kick, and continues work on

other strokes.

SEAL– Child becomes familiar with dolphin kick, tread-

ing water, breaststroke, and continues developing pre-

viously learned skills.

SAILFISH– Students are introduced to the butterfly,

front and back crawl flip turns are taught, and endur-

ance is increased.

BARRACUDA– Students refine and review all strokes

and turns, build endurance, and learn Junior lifeguard-

ing skills.

Aquatic Programs Swim Team

The Shrewsbury Swim Team is a member of the Municipal

Swim League. Team membership is open to swimmers

ages 6-18. Team registration and a new parent meeting

will be held at the Shrewsbury City Center on Thursday,

April 19th at 6pm. The meeting is required for all new fam-

ilies on the swim team. Team dues will also be collected

at this meeting. Returning families do not have to attend

the meeting and can drop registration info off at the front

desk starting April 19th. For more information visit the

Aquasize classes

AQUA FUSION: Various resistance equipment including dumbbells and

noodles, are used in this high energy class to build cardio capacity and

strengthen main muscle groups. Great exercise to increase your strength

and endurance, leaving you feeling great and looking good!

AQUA FABS: Are you over Forty? Do you want tighter Abs to help with

Balance? Do you loathe the thought of pumping iron in a gym but would

still like to build muscle and increase Strength? Then this FABSulous class

is for YOU! As we age, our bellies tend to get bigger, our balance becomes

a bit off kilter, and our muscles start to sag (especially the back of those

arms). Using various water equipment, FABS class will: tighten your tum-

my, improve your balance, and build major muscle groups.

Camps Park Program

Attention campers! You will not want to miss our traditional outdoor summer camp. Join us as we explore Wehner park, play sports, make crafts, and attend field trips! Weekly themes will have you dressing in crazy attire! This sum-mer we will visit Rockin’ Jumps, Color Wars will be back and much more! This camp will be held rain or shine. Camp is located in Wehner Park. Date: Monday - Friday

Camp Dragonfly

Young campers engage in hands-on learning,

exploration, social interaction and lots of fun!

Caring counselors lead arts, songs, games,

enjoy. Your preschooler will make new friends

in our safe, structured camp. Camp will be

held rain or shine. Camp Dragonfly will be

held mainly in the City Center but will venture

to the park for activities.

Theater Shrewsbury Theater Camp

Theater is fun and educational! Through theater

games, acting exercises, and performance, par-

ticipants will gain confidence, team building, ar-

ticulation skills, and become familiar with many

aspects of performance while having a great

time. Experienced participants will also benefit

by honing their skills. The week ends with a

performance for family and friends!

Mary Poppins Jr

Shrewsbury Youth Theater is proud to pre-

sent Mary Poppins Jr. March 8th-11th. You

can order tickets Starting February 8th, by

calling 314-647-1003! Tickets are $8.00 in

advance and $10.00 the week of the show.

Auditioning For The Musical Theatre This is a class for those interested in improving their chances of being cast in a musical theatre production. The student will learn about musical presentation, proper attire, resume construction, and musical performance techniques. Each stu-dent will bring two music selections on the first week appropriate for their age and gender and will perform a mock audition on the fourth week based on skills learned in the class.

Adult Activities Stone Hill Winery Trip

Come join us for this exciting trip to wine country.

Nestled among the rolling hillsides of the Missouri

River, in countryside reminiscent of Germany's

Rhine Valley, is the little town of Hermann. Perched

prominently on one of these hills, with a command-

ing view of the village, is Stone Hill Winery. Estab-

lished in 1847, Stone Hill grew to be the second

largest winery in the United States. After taking a

tour of the winery we will eat lunch at Stone Hill’s

Vintage Restaurant, taste some wine and visit the

gift shop. Once we leave the winery there will be

time to shop around Old Downtown Hermann. Trip

includes lunch, motor coach transportation, tour and

Senior Social featuring Name That Tune Bingo

Hannibal Missouri, Mark Twain boyhood home

We’ll find tons of exciting attractions when we ex-

plore this historic river town! Walk the streets of

Mark Twain’s boyhood home and see everything

through his eyes. First, we will explore the Mark

Twain Home and Museum. Then, we will have

lunch (on your own) at the Mark Twain Brewing

Company. Finally, we will have a narrated river boat

cruise before heading back to St. Louis. Registra-

Bring your dog to enjoy a dip in the

pool! Must bring current shot records.

Dive In Movie Come to the pool for one last

party before the school year starts. We will be

showing a family friendly movie and the con-

cession stand will be open. Bring your rafts,

tubes or anything that will float and enjoy the

show from the water.

Adult Easter Egg Hunt : Easter egg hunts aren’t

just for kids anymore! Kirkwood, Shrewsbury and

Webster Groves cosponsor this fun-filled Adult

Easter Egg Hunt. Bring along your adult beverag-

es, decorated basket and flashlight to find eggs

filled with special prizes and other goodies from

local merchants. Don’t miss this very popular

community event! This is an outdoor event held

rain or shine, so please dress appropriately. Park-

Fun Run Series The Parks Department invites you to

come out for a series of fun runs in Wehner Park. Each

date will have a different theme, Come dressed up for a

chance to win some prizes. No official time will be kept.

Cost: $10 per person, per run. $30 if you sign up for all 4

at once.

Each run will start at 8:30am from the festival site

Recreational Co-ed Kickball League Relive

Pickleball: You’ll want to be part of this already

popular new sport – Pickleball! What is it, you

ask? It’s a combination of tennis, ping pong and

badminton. You use a racket that looks like a larg-

er ping pong paddle and a ball akin to a wiffle

ball. It’s similar to tennis and badminton in service

rotation and play, but there is an underhand serve

that is not as taxing on the shoulder. Mondays,

Wednesdays and Fridays: 9am-12pm , Fridays:

6:30-8:30pm.

Fees: Free for rec pass holders,

$2.00 for non-rec pass holders.

Seminar (BAT 101)Orientation Seminar

This dynamic introductory class will teach

you how dogs learn and how to manage

common behavior issues. Attendance in

this seminar is required before beginning

any entry-level class listed below but there

is no obligation to register for any other

class. Some students find this seminar is

all they need to get started training with

their dog at home. Do not bring your

dog! This presentation is for owners only.

Puppies 8 to 14 weeks start in the Puppy Kindergar-

pate in the AKC Socialization Training Activity & Re-

sponsibility (S.T.A.R) Puppy Program (open to all

greet people, relaxing on a mat, coming

when called, waiting at doorways, staying in

place and walking past distractions.

Rally and Competition Obedience/ Tricks/

Games/CGC Prep

These are advanced classes for dogs that have already

learned foundation skills. These classes teach the skills

needed to compete in AKC Rally and Obedience competi-

tive sports. These are great classes if you are looking for

a fun challenge for you and your dog or you are already an

obedience enthusiast who enjoys the thrill of competition

sport. All dogs can now compete in AKC events, Including

mixed breeds so any well-mannered dog with the required

basic skills is welcome. Tricks/Games/Moving with Your

Dog/CGC Prep are all challenging, interactive classes,

where you and your dog have fun and strengthen your

bond through tasks. Dogs must have graduated from Foun-

dation Manners or the equivalent.
