Brief: Dr Marten's /Radio centre.‘Harness radio’s potential to connect customers old and new with Dr. Martens’ spirit of rebellious self-expression’.

Insight. In this digital age, it’s easy to express your opinion online, however it takes a lot more guts to do so in real life.

The idea: StanD on Stage

Every day for a month, Dr Martens would set up stages in major cities in the UK, and hold debates on provocative topics. Some will be serious, others, lighthearted.

The public’s opinions will be recorded and the best of the day will be collated and broadcast on the radio.

Page 4: CHAZ & NINA PORTFOLIO OCT 2016

Social media platforms would create a buzz around the ‘Stand For Something’ campaign by informing people where stages are located and announcing the daily topics.

Examples of the topics.

Should weed be legalised ?

#Standforsomething

The radio ad.

We trialled the idea in Lincoln and recieved a great response. One of the questions we asked was ‘should weed be legalised?’

We collated the ansers to show how they’d turn into a radio ad. To give it a listen, click here.

Page 8: CHAZ & NINA PORTFOLIO OCT 2016

INSIGHT: takeaway coffee cups are not recyclable, BUT MOST PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE.

SOLUTION:RAISE PUBLIC AWARENESS of the problem AND the solution; lignin.

Page 18: CHAZ & NINA PORTFOLIO OCT 2016

Awareness: billboards with live feeds of grass in public places e.g. over hyde park.

Page 19: CHAZ & NINA PORTFOLIO OCT 2016

PLEASE KEEP OFF THE GRASS

THIS GRASS IS THE SOLUTION TO A GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS.Every year the UK throws 2.5 billion takeaway coffee cups to landfill

because their waterproof coating isn’t recyclable. Grass and other plants contain a material that can be used as an

environmentally friendly alternative.

Search #Lignin or go on our website for more information and sign our petition for change.

Page 20: CHAZ & NINA PORTFOLIO OCT 2016

Awareness: casings that make bins look like giant takeaway coffee cups in public places; such as parks and festivals.

Page 21: CHAZ & NINA PORTFOLIO OCT 2016

Awareness: using 0.001% of the coffee cups thrown away every year in the u.k. (that’s 25,000) create a lifesize sculpture of a garden to highlight the scale of the problem and educate the public about lignin and how it solves the issue.

CLIENT: GOV UK.

Insight.People often forget to check their smoke alarms, but tv advertising is not enough of a call to action.

Page 28: CHAZ & NINA PORTFOLIO OCT 2016

TEMPORARY PACKAGING ON HOUSEHOLD ITEMS THAT CAUSE FIRES WILL trigger PEOPLE TO CHECK THEIR SMOKE ALARM at a time when it’s relevant - for example when cooking with oil. this could be executed on many products, including seasonal ones e.g. on christmas lights to remind people to check their smoke alarms.

A little bit about us.

Charlotte (Brunette)is trained in classical opera singing, makes novelty cakes, and writes beautiful poetry.

Page 37: CHAZ & NINA PORTFOLIO OCT 2016

INK StainsThese are the ones who live their lives with their arms all-full of coloursSome say they’re different to the rest of us they belong just with the others Perhaps they’ve taken every drug and dance until the morningAnd wake up every day assuming everyone else is boringOh they must be brash they must be vulgar they must have a rougher pastOr is it really that that rose of red is just to remind her of her last...Her last kiss or lover’s tiff that rendered her lost for wordsSo that there was nothing left but to ink it down through a petal’s gentle curves Or maybe not? It may just be she felt rebellious that dayThe sky was blue and she felt black and wanted it kept at bay

And his... well his is many, it never was just one, they intertwine and overlap and it never feels quite donethere’s a ship wreck across one bicep that still sails when he moves and its sea floor joins a deserted city of which his mother disapproves his torso has some razor wire and his chest is a bouquetacross his back his ex wife’s name is left proudly on displaybut hidden in the crevices of one ankle is the tiniest of starsthe fearful one; that started these obsessive painted memoires

People say that nowadays ink is just a trendthat skinny white girls get triangles just to match their friends’and any lad who goes on tour seems to come home with some scribble of a cock across his arse from some drunken midnight gigglebut so what, its on his arse and mostly he wears trousersand the story of it will intrigue the girls undoubtedly for hoursthere’s a strange belief that inking is a body brought to ruinbut at least its not a bullet wound with blood that needed sewing.

If these are scars that should be filled with regret instead of colour To lose the pigments on her calf she’d feel a little duller,There is a girl in London town with wings inked on her back Concealing from the world that she survived a knife attackHer sister has a smiley face penned beneath one toeReminding her with every step there’s somewhere wonderful to go

If you have ever felt the need to run out in the rainThen you know the joy that can be felt when you do something insane Or if you’ve ever had a day where the emptiness overflowsTo the point where you want to scream it out in a field that no-one knows

Then you must know behind every action there always lies a storyAnd that to judge a person on their ink alone, is to deny each soul their glory.

Nina (RED)is queen of pretentious snacks, writes questionable poetry, and once got a button stuck up her nose.

Never AGAIN.My conscience rejects youAs you inch closer to my lips. You feel even limper in my hands

It's not that I'm unacquainted with your typeIt's more that I've not had time to understand

Why I consented to this meatLeft my dignity behindand surrendered my tongue to your taste

The supposedly pleasurable Luke warm milkDesperate to escape

I swallow the salivathat my imagination has spawnedThe reality is sufferable at most

You toy with my gag reflexes, right beforeyou force yourself down my throat

My thoughts dripped with shameI'm sorry momI swore I would wait for the right time

It's apparent now there isn't oneLeast not till the next Greggs chicken bake craving of mine

Ingred: Crakcers, tomatoes, cheese, herbs of choice, and a peculiar imagination
