Chartered Engineering Professional Review 'B' Paper Examination: IESL
Qatar Chapter
The IESL Qatar Chapter (IESL- Q) has successfully conducted the ‘B’ Paper Examination in Doha-
Qatar for second time on 3rd September, 2017 at the Hotel Mercure Grand in the capital city
Doha. 21 Engineers who are currently working in various Qatar organizations sat for the exam.
Another two IESLQ members sat the examination in Sri Lanka since they were on vacation.
This exam was started at 7.30AM Qatar time and in line with that Sri Lankan centers exam was
started at 10.00AM.
Prof. Niranjanie Rathnayake, President Elect of the IESL represented the event. Chairmen CEng.
Jagath Gunasekara, Vice Chairmen Eng. Kamil Ariff and C.Eng. Geethananda De Silva from IESL
Qatar Chapter provided necessary supervision during the exam.
As per the IESL guidelines, IESLQ chapter Senior Engineers conducted B Paper preparation classes
continuously on each Friday during past few months at Stafford Sri Lankan School, Qatar.
The Qatar Chapter is the only branch of the IESL in the Middle East region It was established in
September 2014 with the effort of enthusiastic team of Engineers who had been associated as
“Sri Lankan Society Engineers Qatar” (SLSE-Q) since year 2009.
For the first time, the ‘B’ Paper was conducted in 4th September, 2016. Last year, 30 Engineers
sat for the exam and out of that 27 engineers successfully passed the exam. This was the highest
passed percentage figure recorded in any examination center in year 2016.
