Charlottesville Swing Dance Society Swing Dance News ~ September 2016 CSDS' Code of Conduct (Established 10/15/15) ~ Next Dance ~ Saturday, Sept. 17th Ivy Creek United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall Instructor EDWIN ROA Lesson, 7-8 pm Beginner Salsa Dance, 8-11 pm ~ Swing Swap ~ Swing Swap remains at The Senior Center through the month of September. We return to our normal time of 7:30-9 pm (no Edwin Roa Brings Salsa to CSDS! CSDS welcomes Edwin Roa of Zabor Dance /The Dance Spot as our lesson instructor and DJ for our September 17th dance at ICUMC Fellowship Hall! He'll teach a Salsa lesson from 7-8 pm, included in your admission, and then DJ our dance from 8-11 pm. Admission is $13, $10 for CSDS members, and $5 for full-time students (w/ID) and first- timers. It's finally here, International Flash Mob day, Saturday, September 3rd!Dancers all over the world will be performing the flash mob routine andRVA/Central VA Westies will too! Come cheer them on at 11 am at theRegency Square Mall in Richmond (1420 N. Parham Road); theperformance will take place just outside the food court. Any questions,contact Ashley Byrd!
Can't get to Richmond but interested in learning or seeing the routine?Then come to the Rocktown Rocks dance, also on September 3rd,when Ashley Byrd teaches two classes (6-6:45 pm, Learn the Routine;7-7:45 pm Review the Routine) before the dance (7:45-10:45 pm).Anyone who knows the routine is welcome to perform it during thebreak (approx. 9 pm)!!
Upcoming Event ~ Swing Trilogy!
Swing Trilogy in NC is the next area weekend dance event, September8th-11th, hosted by our buddies/Event Directors Ben Hooten and RickDauss, who with his lovely wife Cindy just graced us with theirpresence for our PJ Turner weekend! Our own rock star All Starcompetitor, Alyssa Gillespie, is part of the professional staff! If you'venever been to a weekend dance event, this would be a really goodone! I hope to organize our usual Charlottesville Westies Saturdaynight pizza party so if you haven't done so already, drop me a quicknote to let me know you're going. Hope to see lots of you there!
