EARLY LIFE Poverty and hardship He was sent to workhouse twice in his life before age nine Because of hardship he started performing as stage actor and comedian His first film was launched at age 19 First appearance in making a living 1914 He acted in various best known silent movies like THE GOLD RUSH, THE CIRCUS, CITY LIGHT One of his famous movies is THE GREAT DICTATOR 4. MOTHER Charlie always cited his own mother as a great inspiration Hannah was a singer and character comedienne in the British music halls 5.
