Charlie (Final Girl)

The final girl of our horror film has been named Charlie. She has a unisex name as she is not overtly feminine and a character we want both genders to identify with. She does not have a particularly bold personality but as the film progresses it becomes apparent that her smart, sensible ways are what help her to survive the horrific stalking of our villain. Charlie will be dressed quite plainly throughout the trailer and her lack of makeup and simple hairstyles keenly display her simplistic, virginal nature.

Michael (Villain)

The villain of our film has been inspired by two films in particular; ‘Peeping Tom’ and ‘Scream’. Michael stalks his victims and records their bloody murders on his video camera similar to Michael in ‘Peeping Tom’. He also has an obsession with watching horror films and attempting to imitate the events in ‘Scream’. Michael comes into the neighbourhood leaving behind a suspicious past and his parent’s deaths. He is a complex character who nurses an obsession throughout the film for our main group of teenagers.

Sophie (Promiscuous girl)

Sophie is the promiscuous character of our film and the first one to die. She is a typical overtly feminine character who wears a lot of makeup and spends the majority of her time with boys and socialising at parties and clubs. She has a somewhat ditsy nature and is not as smart as the final girl or as resilient which allows the audience to identify differences between her and Charlie.

Henry (Jock)

This character is the typical sporting, masculine figure within our film. He attempts to seem the bravest but is not particularly intelligent or quick thinking which is why he is again (similar to the promiscuous character) one of the primary teenagers to meet his death. His role is not vital to the storyline but he is a character who’s murder blatantly shows the violent, murderous nature of our killer.

Mr Sharp (Benefactor)

The benefactor in our film is the teacher to the group of teenagers. He tries to protect and look after the final girl and her friends as soon as he discovers an essay written by Michael which contains all the details of Sophie’s murder which no one except from the police would know about.
