Character Design: Faces

The human face conforms to a set of basic proportions. You can distort and exaggerate

these proportions to create a memorable character design.

Most “realistic” faces are based on ovals.

the more youthful it will appear.

Faces of men and boys are more angular.

Also, enlarging the eyes will make the

character look innocent and young.

Small eyes and large mouths can make a

character look more menacing
