• Marginal cost = Variable cost• Total variable cost (TVC)= Marginal cost * quantity• Saab

– TVCSaab = 10,000 * 50,000 = $500,000,000

– Total cost (TC) = Total variable cost + Total fixed cost– TCSaab = $500,000,000 + $1,000,000,000 = $1.5 billion
