Notice

Operations during startup

This chamber is equipped with flash memory as recording media for saving the sampling data and e-mail settings. One of the characteristics of flash memory is that its data may be corrupted if the power is turned off while memory is being accessed. This chamber is equipped with a recovery function that checks the flash memory during startup and restores corrupted data to the factory default values. When the recovery function is operating, the startup time (the time that the Booting screen is displayed) becomes longer. If the startup state (when the Booting screen is displayed) is maintained for 15 minutes without the display changing, contact your distributor or ESPEC.

Maintenance of screen system The controller of this chamber has a mechanism of maintenance of screen system, and the indication part is to be restarted automatically for the purpose even during test. Note that this restarting action is only of the indication part, and the chamber operation continues when restarting.

Chamber/system protection

Do not repeatedly turn the power supply circuit breaker on and immediately turn it off. Also, do not turn the power supply circuit breaker off during startup (when the Booting screen is displayed). Before turning the power off, check that "Booting" and "ALARM" are not displayed on the controller screen for at least 20 seconds after the power supply circuit breaker is turned on.

◆ Note ◆

Data protection If the circuit breaker is repeatedly turned ON and OFF in short intervals, the internal memory (recording media) may no longer be recognized or the recorded data may be corrupted. Please periodically write the recorded sampling data to external memory. For details on the writing procedure, refer to "6.2 Setting sampling/writing" in Chapter 6 of the Controller guide.

Alarm display when booting If one of the following messages is displayed on the controller screen when the chamber is booting and if the keys related to saving data and recording cannot be used after booting, check the alarm report.

Screen message or screen status Details and action

"Chamber stopped because of faulty display device connection"

⇒ Initial communication error. Please contact a service representative.

"The recording area for the recorded data has

been corrupted.

The recording area was initialized."

⇒ A format is being performed. Subsequently the booting screen is displayed. Do not turn OFF the circuit breaker until the monitor screen is displayed. The internal memory may deteriorate or there may be a problem with the recording area. After the chamber boots, check the alarm report from the Chamber Setup screen. If there is a record of the "Recorded data deletion alarm" occurring, you can operate the chamber, but a portion of the recorded data may have been deleted.

"The recording area for the recorded data has

been corrupted.

Recovering and checking the recorded data"

⇒ A file check is being performed.

The time accuracy is within 60 seconds per one month period. Because the clock used here is built into the instrumentation, we recommend that you periodically adjust the time.

The input range differs depending on the months entered. Be sure to enter the month first, followed by the date. Example: If March 31 is set, and then the month is changed to February, the date is

changed automatically to March 3, because February does not have 31 days. The date and time cannot be changed in the following cases.

・ Program operation is being executed. (including program pause and last program holding)

・ The timer is set ・ Sampling recording ・ External memory recording ・ Operation Mode screen is displayed. ・ Alarm is displayed. ・ Accessory or information screen is displayed.

Use this procedure to set the clock time zone. Note that after changing this setting, you will need to turn the chamber circuit breaker off and then back on again. Select the time zone to change to from standard time (UTC) from the pull-down menu under "Time zone" and click [Apply]. Turn the chamber circuit breaker off and then back on again.
