WHAT IS A COMPUTER?
Can be defined as an electronic device that performs rapid computations and generates desired output for users based on input data and programs.
DATA AND INFORMATION
DATA – is a collection of unprocessed items, which include numbers, audio videos, text and images.
INFORMATION – conveys meaning and is useful to people

1. SPEED – millisecond (thousandth), microsecond (millionth), nanosecond (billionth) and picosecond (trillionth).

Mobile device – similar to Mobile computer but it is small enough to hold in your hand.

Small enough to carry in a pocket usually do not have hard drives instead using of special memory to store programs and other some use small storage such as memory cards.

Smart phone – internet enabled phone, provides information, calendars appointment book, address book, calculator, notepad, send and receive email.
Also provides portable media player, built-in digital cameras, cable of using word processing, spreadsheet, and games.

PDA – (Personal digital assistance) differs from smart phone in that is usually does not have phone capabilities and may not be internet-enabled, support voice input, built-in camera, function as portable media player.
