What was it about this widow that drew Jesus’ attention and delighted him so much? Many others had given far more to the Temple treasury than she had. No, it wasn’t the size of her gift that touched him so deeply. It was her willingness to give all. That’s because sacrificial giving reflects the character of God himself. Just think of the way Jesus held nothing back when he gave himself to us. God wants us to pour out our hearts. Whether we are giving financially or sacrificing our time or attention, he wants to see us become as generous as he is. But know that when you ask God for the grace and strength to give from what little you have, he will bless you. Even when it seems like a drop in the bucket, your decision to give pleases the Lord. That’s because each time you choose to give of yourself, you become more like him. He is building his own character in you!

“Lord, help me give of myself as generously as you did.”

The St. Gertrude Prayer said on each of the 50 Hail Mary beads = 50,000 or a full baseball stadium of souls released from Purgatory and in Heaven praying for you now and forever more!

Chaplet:

Using a regular Rosary to pray the chaplet:

On the Crucifix: Apostles Creed On the 1st bead: Our Father On the next 3 beads Hail Mary Between Hail Mary and Our Father Bead: Glory Be On each large bead: Our Father

On each small bead: Eternal Father, I offer You the Most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

At the end of each decade: Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, open the hearts and minds of sinners to the Truth and Light of God, the Father. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for the conversion of sinners and the world. Glory Be to the Father. . .

Our Lord told St. Gertrude the Great that the following prayer would release 1000 souls from Purgatory each time it is said. The prayer was extended to include the living sinners as well.
