  • In the Gospel today, Jesus says “I give you a new com-mandment: love one another….This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one an-other.” By your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul you show that you have love for one another, especially those suf-fering and poor, and that indeed you are the disciple of Jesus.

The day includes catechetical instruction, daily Mass, songs, games and recess. For junior and senior high school youth, the program runs Sunday-Thursday 7:00 pm-9:00 pm. TOTUS TUUS combines catechesis and having FUN! The youthfulness and energy of the teachers is contagious. Come out and join us! Registration is open and available through the parish office or during PSR.

TOTUS TUUS (Latin for TOTALLY YOURS)

is a Summer Catechetical Program for Children and Youth Being held at St. William. June 9-14

    Grade School (Grades 1-6):

    Monday-Friday 9:00 am—2:30 pm

Middle and High School (Grades 7-12): Sunday-Thursday 7:00 pm—9:00 pm

TOTUS TUUS is a diocesan program that gathers together college students and seminarians onto teams of four each and sends them out to parishes to spread the GOOD NEWS of our LORD among children and youth. For grade school children the program consists in catechetical instruction, songs, games, daily Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, lunch, recess and more. TOTUS TUUS balances strong catechetical content with having FUN! The high school program has catechetical instruction, a night of Adoration and Reconciliation, and a night of fellowship with the team. The goal of both programs is to help them to know the LORD and love him more deeply. Because of the youthful-ness and energy of the teachers the children and youth have FUN as well! All are invited to a parish “potluck” on Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm to meet the team, learn about the content of the pro-gram, ask questions, and hear the children sing some songs.

Paul’s back! After last week’s “violent abuse,” oppo-nents organized a lynch mob that beat Paul nearly to death. But call Paul the “energizing evangelist,” transforming deadly cruelty into life-giving zeal. Paul’s past courage should inspire our commitment; Revelation’s future “new heaven, new earth” should inspire our optimism. But Revelation’s present assur-ance, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with the human race,” should challenge us to become “missionaries of mercy.” Because Pope Francis declared that the Church’s credibility is completely dependent on our showing unconditional mercy. Mercy, said Francis, makes the Church, the world, and everyone young again, reawakened to life’s noblest virtues. Fittingly, in today’s Gospel Jesus reinforces that theme: “This is how all will know you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
