In the Gospel today, Jesus says “I give you a new com-mandment: love one another….This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one an-other.” By your gift to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul you show that you have love for one another, especially those suf-fering and poor, and that indeed you are the disciple of Jesus.

TOTUS TUUS (Latin for TOTALLY YOURS)
is a Summer Catechetical Program for Children and Youth Being held at St. William. June 9-14
Grade School (Grades 1-6):
Monday-Friday 9:00 am—2:30 pm
Middle and High School (Grades 7-12): Sunday-Thursday 7:00 pm—9:00 pm
TOTUS TUUS is a diocesan program that gathers together college students and seminarians onto teams of four each and sends them out to parishes to spread the GOOD NEWS of our LORD among children and youth. For grade school children the program consists in catechetical instruction, songs, games, daily Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, lunch, recess and more. TOTUS TUUS balances strong catechetical content with having FUN! The high school program has catechetical instruction, a night of Adoration and Reconciliation, and a night of fellowship with the team. The goal of both programs is to help them to know the LORD and love him more deeply. Because of the youthful-ness and energy of the teachers the children and youth have FUN as well! All are invited to a parish “potluck” on Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm to meet the team, learn about the content of the pro-gram, ask questions, and hear the children sing some songs.
SUNDAY, JUNE 2ND-CIVITAN PARK
The 11:00 am Mass will be celebrated at Civitan Park with picnic to immedi-ately follow. Meat and drinks will be provided. Everyone is asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share using the below guidelines:
A-I POTATO, RICE, OR NOODLE DISH
J-S VEGETABLE OR SALAD

Paul’s back! After last week’s “violent abuse,” oppo-nents organized a lynch mob that beat Paul nearly to death. But call Paul the “energizing evangelist,” transforming deadly cruelty into life-giving zeal. Paul’s past courage should inspire our commitment; Revelation’s future “new heaven, new earth” should inspire our optimism. But Revelation’s present assur-ance, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with the human race,” should challenge us to become “missionaries of mercy.” Because Pope Francis declared that the Church’s credibility is completely dependent on our showing unconditional mercy. Mercy, said Francis, makes the Church, the world, and everyone young again, reawakened to life’s noblest virtues. Fittingly, in today’s Gospel Jesus reinforces that theme: “This is how all will know you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
