A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

Each and every day at Central Lutheran School we talk to our students about learning and understanding. As a school, we are working hard to instill concepts and knowledge into all of the children. It is necessary in order to prepare our students for whatever life has in store for them after they graduate 8th grade. Students need to be prepared in various ways for a life of joyful service to the church, the community, and the world. However, we must never lose sight of the fact that it is not our own understanding or our own actions, that will sustain us now and through eternity. The most important part of Central Lutheran School is that God’s word is the foundation for all that we do. It is God’s Word that we can trust in throughout our lives. It is God’s Word that strengthens our faith. It is God’s Word that gives us the promise of salvation through Jesus Christ.

ART PROGRAM REQUEST Throughout the year, your children will have the opportunity to create a variety of 2D and 3D artwork based on what they learn in art class each week. In order to give our students as many opportunities to create as possible, Mrs. Colter is asking for donations of items you may already have around your home. Those items include:

• Magazines (food, sports, animals, nature, and home décor) • Newspapers • Baby wipes • Egg cartons • Clean plastic butter and cool whip containers with lids • Disposable plastic table covers • Coffee filters • Paper plates

If you would like to donate, please label them ‘for Art class’ and drop them off at the office. Thank you and keep an eye out for your child’s artwork in the next few weeks!

SCRIP NEWS What is Scrip? Scrip fundraising is a no-selling program that enables families to raise money for tuition credit and Central Lutheran School. Scrip is just another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards. You purchase gift cards from Central at face value, and your coordinator orders those cards from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a reduced price. The difference is an instant rebate for your organization. It’s really that simple. Great Lakes Scrip Center offers over 300 of the country’s biggest brands, including grocery, department stores, gas stations, hotels, restaurants, home improvement, and more. Just by using Scrip to pay for your normal weekly purchases, you could easily raise $300 or more per year toward your child’s tuition or book fees. It’s time to put our shopping dollars to work!

Scrip is sold in the office (Mr. Messmann’s old office) across the hall from the office. Hours are: Tuesday 7:30- 8:15am, Friday 7:30-8:15am and 2-2:45pm.
