2019 WOMA Fall Seminar Speakers

Ryan Black, DO

Dr. Ryan Black graduated from Utah State in Logan, Utah with degrees in Biology and Chemistry and he earned his medical degree from A.T. Still University, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa.  Dr. Black is board-certified in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery. His inspiration to be a physician comes from the joy he gets from taking care of his patients and the challenges of complex head and neck surgeries. Dr. Black is committed to listening to the needs of each patient and tailoring their treatment to their unique needs. Dr. Black grew up in Murray, Utah. He and his wife have five children. The whole family enjoys the beauty that surrounds us in Central Washington. When he's not spending time at work or with his family, Dr. Black volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America.

James Keene, DO

Dr. James R. Keene earned a Ph.D. in Physiology at Southern Illinois Univ., Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine & Surgery from the Univ. of Osteopathic Medicine & Health Sciences, Des Moines, IA. Dr. Keene completed Family Medicine Residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Keene practiced in Sunnyside and Kennewick, WA. before joining the faculty at Pacific Northwest Univ. of Health Sciences. Dr. Keene serves PNWU as clinical faculty and is Associate Professor of Osteopathic Principles & Practice.

David Krueger, MD

Dr. Dave Krueger began life in Lakewood, WA. He completed his medical degree and Internal Medicine Residency at the Univ of Washington in 1987, followed by his Fellowship in Cardiology at the Univ of Colorado in 1990. He joined the Yakima Heart Clinics in 1990; his practice has included interventional cardiology for 10 years and invasive plus general cardiology for almost 30 years. He has been active teaching PNWU students since 2011 as well as Central Washington Family Medicine Residents since 1990. He has served as the Director of the Annual Cardiac Issues Symposium in Yakima for the past 20+ years. Dr. Krueger reports that he has been blessed with three daughters, all born during his training. He enjoys lots of family get-togethers, competitive swimming, backpacking/hiking, and road biking.

Dr. M Sean Mullin is a 1997 graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.  He completed a rotating internship at Charleston Area Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma and Tertiary referral center in Charleston, West Virginia.  His residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation was completed in 2001 at the rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago. A physical medicine and rehab specialist at Lakeview Spine, Dr. Mullin uses a holistic approach to help his patients. In his free time, Dr. Mullin enjoys cooking, reading, walking his dog, snowboarding, and flying his Cessna aircraft with his wife.

Yami Cazorla-Lancaster, DO

Dr. Yami graduated from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and earned Masters degrees in both Public Health and Science in Clinical Research and Education. She is a passionate promoter of healthy lifestyles, especially the power of plant-based diets for the prevention of chronic disease, she founded VeggieFitKids.com and hosts the podcast Veggie Doctor Radio where she provides information on plant-based diets for children. Dr. Yami serves as Adjunct Teaching Faculty for both PNWU and Univ of Washington schools of medicine. She is pleased to announce that her book: A Parent’s Guide to Intuitive Eating: How to Raise Kids Who Love to Eat Healthy will be released this Fall (2019). Dr. Cazorla-Lancaster is in private practice at Nourish Wellness, PLLC in Yakima, WA. where she lives with her husband and two active sons. Learn more about Dr. Yami at DoctorYami.com.

Michael Lawler, MSW, PhD

Dr. Lawler is President of Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) in Yakima, Washington. PNWU educates and trains health care professionals, emphasizing service to rural and medically underserved communities throughout the Northwest. He has 35 years of professional experience in health and human services, including 24 years as a leader in higher education at PNWU, University of South Dakota, and University of California, Davis. Dr. Lawler has authored and co-authored more than 80 publications and served as the United States Principal Investigator of Children’s Worlds, an international research project that assesses the health and well-being of children in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. He is chair of the American Psychological Association’s Committee on Children, Youth and Families.

Michael J. Scott, DO, MPH

Dr Michael Scott is a Seattle-based dermatologist and director of Seattle Dermatology Center. His areas of interest include general medical and surgical dermatology, pediatrics, sports dermatology, as well as preventive medicine and public health. A few examples of his service to dermatology includes, but is far from limited to, the numerous articles published in multiple publications, lecture and poster presentations at local and national meetings, lecture presentations to community groups in Seattle, United States Olympic Committee Crew Chief Drug Control Program physician, sports medicine volunteer, and a USA Amateur Boxing Federation volunteer ringside physician. Dr. Scott has also served in various leadership roles within the AOCD, AOBD, Washington State Osteopathic Medical Association, and other societies. He is Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, a Past President of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, and is currently serving as Chair of the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology.
