WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Fresh Start serves Women and Men
who are :
• 18 years or older• Ready to make a positive change in their lives!• Interested in enrolling in Daytona State College (in one of the following):
GED Program
Vocational Certificate Program
Associate of Science Degree
The New Directions Program supports the Educational needs of
Non-Traditional and CTE Students by providing Financial Assistance for Tuition, Uniforms, Equipment or
Textbooks.
Who’s Eligible?The New Directions program serves students in the Associate of Science and Certificate programs who are:
• Single Parents (Male or Female)• Displaced Homemakers• Non-Traditional (such as a Male in
Nursing or a Female in Law Enforcement)
Other deserving students who demonstrate extreme financial need will also be considered for assistance

Book Loans for CTE students begin one week prior to first day of each semester. Other programs, book loan available the first day of class. Limit of one book prior to first day of class.
Following documents must be provided:
• Unofficial Transcript - cumulative GPA must be 2.0 or better
• Class Schedule/Fee Statement - showing tuition has been paid in full
• Bookstore Receipt – showing books purchased and book voucher used in full

Who’s Eligible?
• Low-income student parents living in Flagler and Volusia counties who are attending classes at any Daytona State College campus.
Requirements:• Eligible to receive Pell Grant• Have a minimum cumulative GPA of
2.5 for continuing students or be registered as a new student
• Be enrolled in at least 6 traditional college-level credit hours. This stipulation requires 6 credit hours of in-class attendance during the day at any DSC campus.
