Presidents CornerAs we enter into the busy Holiday season, we want to take this time to remind homeowners of
a few important items.• The Directors and Executive Committee are in the process of finalizing the budget for 2013. • The Directors for the Chandler Creek HOA would like to announce to residents that there is
a quarterly meeting for homeowners, which will be held at the Williamson County Annex on Thursday December 13, 2012 at 7pm. We want to extend the invitation for homeowners to come voice ideas to improve our community, give input as to projects that residents want the HOA to undertake and to obtain other important information about our HOA. This is the meeting where the annual budget will be discussed for 2013. It is our hope to see many of you there!
• Annual statements are tentatively scheduled to be mailed the first week of December. Now is a good time to make sure that Alliance has your most current mailing address. Remember – it is the responsibility of each homeowner to make sure that the HOA and management company is aware of any address changes.
• Annual HOA fees are due January 1, 2013 and will be considered late if paid after January 30, 2013.
• Payment plans will be made available to homeowners; however, not all payment plan requests may be approved. For more information about payment plans, please contact Alliance at 347-2888.
• There will be no monthly Board meeting in the month of December. As we previously announced, the HOA currently has an interim property manager. If there are
any concerns that you brought to Alliance’s attention that have not yet received a proper response or follow-up, please let us know so that we can look into it.
We also want to take this time to remind homeowners to make sure that their homes are secure if you plan to leave town for the holidays. Please make sure that your home does not “invite” burglars.
We hope everyone is enjoying the fall season and that the upcoming holidays are joyful for everyone.
As always, if there are any concerns or you wish to bring something to our attention, please do not hesitate to do so.
On behalf of the Executive Committee and Directors,
WoodyHOA President

Please note: If you have any questions about a violation letter you receive, it is imperative that you contact the management company as soon as possible after receiving the letter so that your questions/concerns can be addressed in a timely manner.

HERE IS A BREAKDOWN OF THE TYPES OF VIOLATIONS NOTED FOR THE MONTH OF
SEPTEMBER 2012:
Would you like to help us make the holidays brighter for hundreds of Central Texas foster children! Secret Santa is a special holiday gift program of the Adoption Coalition of Texas (ACT) helping Child Protective Services and foster families provide gifts and spread holiday cheer to Central Texas foster children through the generosity of community donors.
If you would like to be a Secret Santa this year and purchase holiday gifts for a Central Texas foster child, please email your name, email address and contact phone number to [email protected]. The gift drop-off days will be at several Austin-area locations on Wednesday through Saturday, December 5 – 8, and caseworkers will be picking up the gifts the following week. Once you sign up to be a donor, we’ll send you all the details. Last year, thanks to the kindness of people like you, we brought smiles to the faces of more than 350 foster children!
The Adoption Coalition is a partnership of nonprofit adoption agencies and Child Protective Services working together to find forever families for abused and neglected children waiting for adoption. These are usually older children, sibling groups and children with special needs. For information about ACT and adoption, visit www.adoptioncoalitiontx.org.

MUD NEWSATTENTION SPORTS
FANS! This is just a reminder that there is a policy in place for teams
to reserve the sports fields. The policy is posted in the pavilion. A coaches meeting and field lottery will be held in January 2013.Please help keep the fields in good condition by not playing on them if it has been raining.Watch Your Step! Several fire ant mounds have erupted in the park as a result of recent rains.

Kim’s Cooking CornerHere is a great recipe for keeping the theme of the season. This
one is great to serve after Thanksgiving if there is leftover cranberry relish, but is also just a really great all around cheesecake. Enjoy!
Ingredients:• 1-1/2 cups cinnamon graham cracker crumbs (about 8 whole
crackers)• 1/4 cup sugar• 1/3 cup butter, melted•• Filling:• 4 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened• 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk• 1/4 cup lemon juice• 4 eggs• 1-1/2 cups chopped fresh or frozen cranberries• 1 teaspoon grated orange peel• Sugared cranberries and orange peel strips, optional
Directions:• In a large bowl, combine cracker crumbs and sugar; stir in butter.
Press onto the bottom of a greased 9-in. springform pan; set aside.• In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and milk until fluffy. Beat in
lemon juice until smooth. Add eggs; beat on low speed just until combined. Fold in cranberries and orange peel. Pour filling over crust. Place on pan on a baking sheet.
• Bake at 325° for 60-70 minutes or until center is almost set. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
• Carefully run a knife around edge of pan to loosen. Cool 1 hour longer. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight. Garnish with sugared cranberries and orange peel if desired. Yield: 12 servings.

PET CORNERCAN I GIVE MY DOG THANKSGIVING SCRAPS?
Submitted by Kristen WestWe know it’s tempting, but most Thanksgiving scraps are not
safest treat for your pets. Cooked turkey bones are a big no-no as they can splinter and result in a trip to pet ER. Additionally, overindulging your pet in other fatty foods can lead to stomach upset, diarrhea or even life-threatening pancreatitis. Other items to avoid are onion, sage, garlic ... and please, don’t ever give your pet alcohol.
If you can't turn away from those puppy-dog eyes, a bite or two of pet-safe veggies like plain broccoli, sweet potato or carrots, or a small taste of plain turkey is usually OK. Put the treats in a Kong or other puzzle toy while you sit down to eat with your family so that your furry begger is happily preoccupied!
