Blue and red are an integral part of the NAIA brand. Our secondary color palette is designed to complement our primary colors and allow them to stand out, while providing flexibility in design layouts.

Keep the following guidelines in mind when using the secondary color palette:

• All pieces should include red and blue as the predominate colors.

• Supporting colors should be used as accents. Tints of each may be used when necessary to extend the num-ber of colors, for example, in charts, graphs and diagrams.

• Our secondary colors provide vari-ability, but please exercise restraint. Limit the number of secondary colors used in a single piece so they do not create an environment in which the NAIA is not recognizable.

MASTER PAGESIn the InDesign template provided, use the pre-designed master page templates. Use A-Master if your program will be printed in full color. Use B-Master if your interior pages will be printed in black and white.

To apply or change a master template, right click on the page in the Pages panel, and select Apply Master to Pages...

In the Apply Master pop-up box, chose the master you want to use and the page(s) you want to apply it to, then click OK.

Note: Different masters can be used throughout the program. If part of the program is printed in color and part is printed in black and white, apply the masters accordingly.

FONT STYLESIn the InDesign template provided, use the pre-designed Character Styles to format the text throughout. The styles are found in the Character Styles panel.

NAIA ADSAn NAIA ad will be provided for your program. To place the ad in the program, follow these steps.

1. Go to File > Place ...

2. Navigate to the folder where the ad is saved, select the ad, and click Open.

3. Place the ad on the page at 100% scale by clicking once on the page.

4. Center the ad on the page by click-ing the center reference point and typing in the coordinates for the center of the page: • Left-side page: 4.25 x 5.5 • Right-side page: 12.75 x 5.5

5. Adjust the interior frame edge so that it aligns with the center of the book at the 8.25” mark. (For a left-page ad, adjust the right frame edge. For a right-page ad, adjust the left frame edge.)
