Optional Day Ski Trips outside of Chamonix Ski Courmayeur, Italy-Through the Mont Blanc Tunnel to Italy on BRSC private charter bus http://www.chamonix.net/files/maps/courmayeur.pdf Ski Verbier, Switzerland- One day out of the six day Mont Blanc ticket may be used at Verbier. Although there is enough skiing in the region to ski two weeks without skiing the same run twice, this could be a once in a lifetime chance to ski prestigious Verbier. Our charter bus to Verbier will drop us off and pick us up at the Le Chable base. http://www.verbier.ch/images/flash/planhiverA_1012_.pdf Optional Sightseeing Day Trips- Annecy is just 50 minutes away. It lies along the northwestern shore of Lake Annecy at the
entrance to one of the cluses (transverse gorges) of the Savoy Pre-Alps, south of Geneva. Annecy is the Venice of France. The medieval town center built around a 14th Century Chateau is dissected by small canals and
streams running out of azure colored Lac Annecy, Shop the many boutiques lining the narrow stone-paved streets or the open-air markets for local wines, crafts and delicacies. Feb 23 is Annecy’s annual Venetian Carnivale.
Lausanne, Switzerland Just 90 minutes away, Lausanne is a jewel of the town on the shores of Lake Geneva. From its ancient Cathedral, charming old town lined with cafes and shops, the Olympic museum and the promenades along the lake, there is something for everyone here.
Lausanne Geneva – just one hour away
The Old Town Geneva’s ancient Old Town is a maze of sloping cobblestone streets and alleyways filled with cafes, boutiques and
historical landmarks at every turn.

Chamonix’s reputation grew from its spectacular mountains and it became a popular destination for wealthy Brits and Swiss in the 18th & 19th centuries. When Mont Blanc was first conquered in 1786 by two local French men, it paved the way for others to flock to Chamonix to climb the peaks that stand above the town. The first winter visitors arrived in 1901 via the new railway, and the first winter Olympic Games were held in Chamonix in 1924. Now, the town has a very cosmopolitan feel to it. The main pedestrian area offers plenty for even the most avid shopper.
