When I think of all the thing different initiatives the chamber has been be-hind throughout the years from the Business-Education alliance to Clean-ing up Marshalltown I remember Ken as the person working behind the scenes making sure it gets done. By the end of the day Ken was covered head to foot with paint and I always kidded him in his moustache days that he never got all the paint washed out with the gray highlights that were showing through. years as President of the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce, I want to say thank you for the tremendous support I have received. I didn’t plan to stay 19 years, but in hindsight I am very glad I did. Marshalltown, Iowa, is an outstanding community. What makes this place
importantly it is outstanding because of the way it has dealt with its issues. I would argue that there is no other community of our size in Iowa that has
have thrived. Our success has happened because of committed volunteers and elect-ed leaders who have stepped up to the challenges. This success is about
success is also about identifying the issues, and being willing to take on the challenges these issues present. It is about a belief in the future by do-ing what is necessary in the present to reach the vision that creates a place where people are proud of the place they call home. I have always believed in the statement “the future is bright, but
success. However, this community cannot rest on its laurels or be over-whelmed by whatever challenges may come. It is all about leadership,
attributes are in place for a bright future. I feel very blessed to have had this opportunity. Thank you!
