MINUTES  CALL TO ORDER: Meeting called to order by Chairman David Hughes  the May 2, 2017 Historic Preservation Board Regular Meeting at 8:01 am.  ROLL CALL:  Chairman David Hughes    Vice Chairman Lewis Long Chris Williams           Mark Shuttleworth    Cory Spaziani      City Clerk Becky Witte            City Administrator Jason Yarborough  CEREMONIAL MATTERS: Legislative Prayer led by Vice Chairman Lewis Long followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES: April 4, 2017 Discussion of the minutes MOTION  by  Cory  Spaziani  to  approve  the  minutes  of  April  4,  2017.    SECOND  by  Mark  Shuttleworth.  MOTION  CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.  AGENDA ADDITIONS/DELETIONS: Addition of Presentation from staff.  PUBLIC HEARINGS: COA for Roof Renovation at 107 S. Euclid Avenue, First United Congregational Church Discussion with input from City Administrator Jason Yarborough and Applicant Hopton Roofing  MOTION by Mark Shuttleworth to recommend to the City Commission Approval of the Certificate of Appropriateness for Roof 

Renovation at 107 S. Euclid Avenue, First United Congregational Church.  SECOND by Cory Spaziani.  MOTION CARRIED 4‐1 with 

Chairman David Hughes voting NO. 

GATEWAY CORRIDOR HISTORIC STYLE REVIEW: Swimming Pool at 351 Lemon Avenue  Discussion with input from City Administrator Jason Yarborough and Applicant Rick Harper, Southern Pool Designs. Discussion of Gateway Corridor Map, Pergola, Gazebo and Safety Gate.    MOTION by Cory Spaziani to recommend that the City Administrator approve the swimming pool at 351 Lemon Avenue as presented with the pergola painted to match the residence.  SECOND by Vice Chairman Lewis Long.  MOTION CARRIED UNIAMOUSLY.  Discussion of Swimming Pools by the Board.  Single Family Residence at 135 S. High Street Discussion with input from City Administrator Jason Yarborough and Applicant/Owner Jan Ingrando.    MOTION by Chris Williams to recommend that the City Administrator approve the Single Family Residence as presented with suggestion of cedar shake siding on front dormer as well as on top roof line of the garage facing High Street or knee brace, as well as detail added to top of columns along the front porch.  SECOND by Mark Shuttleworth.  MOTION CARRIED UNIAMOUSLY.   BOARD CONSIDERATION AND DISCUSSION: None  PRESENTATION TO THE BOARD: Sharde Slaw, Intern Lake Helen regarding FRDAP applications for Blake Park and Melissa Park  STAFF COMMENTS/CHAIRMAN AND MEMBER COMMENTS:  Vice Chairman Lewis Long discussed the Historic Society presentation on June 11, 2017 in the City Hall Chambers at 3:00pm Cory Spaziani discussed Tony Troy Day.  Next meeting tentatively set for Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 8:00am.  PUBLIC COMMENTS: None  ADJOURNMENT:  Chairman David Hughes adjourned the May 2, 2017 Historic Preservation Board Regular Meeting at 9:44 am.
