16th October, 2014 Rules and Regulations
Non-Technical Events :- 1) Treasure Hunt:
Event time duration is 35 mins.
Each team can have maximum 3 members
There will be 10 clues which participants need to find in 35 mins.
2) Clickomania (Photography): Event time duration is 30 Min.
It is an individual event
Participant should have a cell phone with camera
On the basis of 10-15 situations students need to click photographs in college campus
The person clicking maximum situations in minimum time will be the winner
3) Just a Minute (JAM)
A team can have only one member
Each participant will be given a topic on the spot , with a preparation time of 1minute.
Participants can use a combination of Hindi, English and Punjabi (optional)
The buzzer will be pressed twice .once when 45 seconds have passed and once at the
end of one minute, signaling the participants that their turn is over
The participants will be judged on originality, contents.
No abusive language or in appropriate behavior will be tolerated
4) Color Your Thought (Poster Making) It is an individual event.
The participants are required to get all the material for the competition
The paper will be provided by the organizer for drawing /painting
Participants can carry pencils, water colour ,oil painting ,sketch pens, colour pencils,
with them
No other 3d objects are acceptable
The competition will be for 45 minute to 1 hour
Participants shall not carry any other paper or drawing sheet with except which is
provided by the organizer otherwise he/she will be disqualified
5) Mismash (Collage Making):- Each team can have maximum 2 Members
Theme will be according to the Collage must be according to theme “SAVE GIRL CHILD”
“WAR AND PEACE”
Time : 1.00 Hr
Participants are required to bring their own stationary, Newspaper, or other items only
drawing sheet will be provided by the college.
Participants will have to give an explanation to the judges at the end of the competition.
6) Cartooning:- No. of participants: 1 member
Time: 1.00 Hr
Participants are required to bring their own stationary, only drawing sheet will be
provided by the college. Colors are not allowed.
Participants will not be allowed to give any explanation of the sketch, it must be self
explanatory.
7) Splash (Rangoli):-
Bring your own colors.
Time limit – 1hour.
Maximum Candidates – 2 in each team.
Candidates should bring their own decorative items, if required.
8) Mehandi:-
Contestants must bring their own Mehandi cones. Time limit – 1 hour. Contestants should not use any decorative glitter etc. Contestants will not be allowed to carry any Paper/Design with them. There will be two members in each team.
9) Ad- Diction
A Team can have maximum 5 Members
The team will be given a product or a service on the spot.
Ads have to be created without props.
20 minutes will be given for the preparation & 3-5 minutes for the execution.
One entry per institution is allowed comprising 3-5 members.
10) NEW LOOK (FACE PAINTING):
A Team can have maximum 2 students including one accompanying student whose face
is to be painted per institution.
Theme has to be decided by the participants. (To be explained to the judges)
Participants will bring their own material like colors and brushes.
Time allowed is 45 minutes.
11) Best out of Waste One team per institution comprised of maximum 4 members.
Participants can use only wasteful material.
35 minutes will be allowed.
12) Parliament Discussion:
Maximum 1 participants per college/ institute.
The discussion would be of half an hour.
Topic will be given on the spot.
13) Paper Mache Students are required to make figures out of paper signifying an idea.
A Team shall consists of 2 participants.
Teams need to bring their own materials for PAPER MACHE(paper, glue and other
materials).
Time Limit is 30-40 Minutes.
14) Debate
Topic : “For Student Evaluation Percentage System (as earlier used) should be used”
Maximum Two Participants (One Pro and One Against) can participate from an School/
College
In order to establish an assertion, the team must support it with enough evidence and
logic to convince. Facts must be accurate.
In the questioning period, the questioner may ask any fair, clear question that has a
direct bearing on the debate.
Maximum 5 Minutes will be given to express their views. First bell will ring after 4
Minutes and second after 5 Minute.
15) Nail Art Nail art contestants will be given 1 hours to complete their designs; all nail art must be
completed during the competition time given.
Contestants may apply any length nail enhancements to their models nails prior to the competition without designs, but designs have to be done and completed at the nail table during the competition.
Any nail art medium specific to the category can be used to achieve the design such as brushes, colour shapers, sponges and dotting tools, rhinestones, pearls, studs, glitters, feathers, foils, lace, nail polish, base coats, and top coats.
All ten of the models fingers must have a nail art design on them and must be constructed within the competition time.
Participants are required to bring their own nail design material.
There will be two members in each team.
16) Shape and Style (Hair Style and Makeup Competition)
Contestants must bring their own hair style and beauty accessories.
Ornaments and accessories (clips, earrings, necklaces, scarves, etc.) are acceptable.
Be sure the actual hair style can be clearly seen.
Participant ‘s hair length can be short, medium, or long.
All styling, makeup, etc. must be performed by the competitor only.
Time limit – 1 hour.
Contestants will not be allowed to carry any Paper/Design with them.
There will be two members in each team
17) Matchstick Magician
The participants are required to get all the material for the completion.
The Craft work can be 2D/3D
Acceptable tools includes pencil, match stick, colored stick, jumbo stick, icecream stick, wires, fevicol etc.
The competition will be for 1.15 Hour
Each team can have maximum two members. (Individual participants are also acceptable)
Technical Events
1. Technical Quiz
The quiz will be conducted in 2 Slots.
1st slot will consist of the questions about the C++ basics and fundamentals.
Each pair will be given a question and if they answer it correct, they get 5 marks and they answer it wrong, its -5 and the question will be passed onto the next team and so on till we get the correct answer. For the pass question, the team gets +3 if they answer it correct.
2nd slot will be a mind-boggling round. It will consist of general questions regarding the computer world.

In the end, we shall total the marks for each slot of all the teams and the team scoring the highest is declared the winner. (1st position.)
We will be announcing the first 3 winners and they will be awarded.
2. Technical Paper Presentation
Maximum number of participants in a Team is 2. Persons from different institutions can be a part of the same team. However, one person may not be a part of multiple teams for the same event.
Presentation focuses on one particular topic. Topic should be under ambit of technical scenario.
Submit paper in following format: Full length paper not exceeding 4 pages of A4 size in IEEE double column format.
Soft-copies of the submitted paper and PowerPoint presentations must be in the .docx format.
Please Mail your paper (including abstract) and ppt to [email protected] on or before 11th Oct., 2014. The mail with submissions should contain:
a. Title- theme of the paper. b. Name of both the authors. c. Phone no of both the authors. d. E- mail IDs .
Difficulties will be addressed through the same email-ids.
Bring your PowerPoint presentation on a CD as well as on a pen-drive and bring 2 hardcopies of the submitted paper on the day of the event.
The teams will get 8 minutes for presentation followed by 2 minutes for question and answer session.
Selected students would be intimated by mail on 13th Oct., 2014.
Best paper will be selected and awarded.
3. Techexpo 1.0 (Exhibition of Models)
Event is innovative and open to all the branches.
Participants can take part in groups. Maximum 3-5 students in a group.
Students need to prepare working models or replica of famous structures.
They will be judged on the basis of technicality of the project and its explanations.
4. Management Maestro/Business Plan
A team can have maximum 2 participant
They will present their business plan through PPT the time should not exceed 8 Minutes.
The business plan will be judged on the criteria of financial, operational and marketing feasibility.
5. Tech Battle (Gaming)
Game format: 4 or 5
A team consist of 4 to 5 members.
Players can bring their own headphones, mouse and mouse-pads.
No restrictions on age for the participants of Gaming.
All matches are knockout ones.
The maps included for the tournament are random after the toss.
2. Smack Down –Here Comes The Pain
Game format: Single player And Tournaments.
Its all about beating your opponents.
Players can re-register and take another shot at the match to win it if they aren't satisfied
3. FIFA 2014
Game format: Tournaments only.
All matches will be PVP(Player Vs Player)
Registration:
Counter-Strike - Rs 500/- per team of 5 members F1FA 14- Rs 100/- per head Smack Down- Rs 50/- per head (for singe player matches)
*We are planning to conduct Smack Down-Here Comes the Pain as informal. That is, the participants
register to us directly and play.

6. Jewellery Design using electronic components
No. of participants: 3 members.
Design will be according to the participant choice.
Time : 1hr 30 Minutes
Participants are required to bring their own components according to their design requirement. Some of the components will be provide by college.
Participants will have to give an explanation to the judges at the end of the competition.

RULES AND REGULATION
A team can have upto two members.
A team will be qualify to next level on the basis of accuracy of job and time taken.
A time limit will be given as per the given task.
A team cannot use more than a limit of tools which will provide as per the task.
No abusive language or inappropriate behaviour will be tolerated.
No registration fees.
9. CAD Modelling
A team can have only one member.
Each participant will given a drawing on the spot.
There will be three section including-
Objective quiz (20 min.).
2-D drawing (20 min.).
3-D drawing (30 min.).
Participant could be disqualified for taking extra time.
No abusive or inappropriate behaviour will be tolerated.
No registration fee.
Decision of the judges will be final.
Maximum marks scorer in overall section will be the winner.
RULES-Cultural Events CGC FEST 2014
The Viral Voice (SOLO SINGING Competition)
1. It is an individual event.
2. It includes following categories
Western Singing
Hindi Singing
Punjabi Singing
Solo Rap Performance
3. One entry Per Institution in each category will be allowed.
4. The time duration for performance will be minimum 3 min. and maximum 5 minutes.
5. Maximum 2 minutes will be allowed for stage setup. Exceeding the time limit will lead to
disqualification.
6. Participants can bring their Karaoke or any One Instrument but Judgment would be on the Basis of
Singing Only.
7. Use of abusive language is Strictly Prohibited
8. Any Sort of Bad Behavior/Foul Language will lead to disqualification.
9. Judges Decision will be final.
Confluence (GROUP SINGING Competition)
1. The Maximum number of participants should be 4 per team.
2. It includes following categories
Western Singing
Hindi Singing
Punjabi Singing
Rap Performance
3. One entry Per Institution in each category will be allowed.
4. The time duration for performance will be minimum 4min. and maximum 6 minutes
5. Maximum 2 minutes will be allowed for stage setup. Exceeding the time limit will lead to
disqualification.

7. Any Sort of Bad Behavior/Foul Language will lead to disqualification.
8. The judgment will be purely based on the quality of singing.
9. Judges Decision will be final.
Folk Dance Competition
1. One entry Per Institution will be allowed.
2. This category comprises of events like bhangra, malwai giddha, jhumar, nati or any other
regional dance.
3. Duration of performance should be minimum 8 minutes and maximum 12 minutes.
4. Team should not comprise more than 10 participants.
5. Each team can carry additional 4 persons for singing and instrument playing.
6. Participating team will be responsible for removal of their sets or properties etc immediately
after completion of their performance.
7. Pre-recorded music should be brought in 2 CDs and Pendrive (.mp3 or .wav format) .
8. One person per team must be there to manage sound track. Bring 2 CDs containing sound track.
9. Any Sort of Bad Behavior/Foul Language will lead to disqualification
10. Judgment will be based on rhythm, formation, expressions, costumes and overall effect.
11. Judges Decision will be final.
Giddha competition
1. One entry Per Institution in each category will be allowed
2. The Team Should consists of maximum 12 members.
3. Duration of performance should be minimum 9 minutes and maximum 12 minutes.
4. Each team can carry additional 4 persons for singing and instrument playing.
5. No Cd’s or cassettes will be allowed for boliyan.
6. Each team should use minimum of 2 Props in their performance.
7. Any Sort of Bad Behavior/Foul Language will lead to disqualification.
8. Participating team will be responsible for removal of their sets or properties etc immediately
after completion of their performance.
9. Judgment will be based on rhythm , formation, expressions, costumes and overall effect
10. Judges Decision will be final.
Poetry Competition
1. It is an individual event.
2. The language of the poem can be either English or Hindi or Punjabi.
3. No restriction on no. of entries per institution in this category.
4. The contents of the composition should be meaningful. Vulgar or cheap content will lead to
disqualification.
5. Duration of poem should be of minimum 2 minutes and 3 maximum minutes.
6. Exceeding of time limit will lead to disqualification.
7. Decision of the judges will be final.
Abhinay STREET PLAY-A cause for society
1. The theme of the street play should be Eve Teasing.
2. The Team should consist of 8-12 members.
3. Duration of performance should be maximum 10 minutes.
4. Any kind of Props necessary for the performance are allowed .
5. The script should be meaningful. Vulgar or cheap content will lead to disqualification
6. All the participants must be from the same college.
7. Languages allowed: English, Hindi and Punjabi.
8. Exceeding of time limit will lead to disqualification.
9. Decision of the judges will be final.
FootLoose-Western Dance Solo
1. One entry per institution is allowed.
2. Duration of performance should not be more than 5 minutes.
3. Any kind of Props necessary for the performance are allowed .
4. Water works or any kind of fireworks is strictly prohibited.
5. Judgment will be based on the basis of Rhythm, expression, costumes and overall effect
6. Obscenity of any kind can lead to disqualification.
7. Pre-recorded music should be brought in 2 CDs and Pendrive (.mp3 or .wav format) .
8. One person per team must be there to manage sound track. Bring 2 CDs containing sound track.
9. Decision of Judges shall be final.
Spectrum- Western Group Dance
1. One entry per institution is allowed.
2. Team should comprise of 6-12 members.
3. Duration of performance should be 6 to 8 minutes.
4. Any kind of Props necessary for the performance are allowed.
5. Water works or any kind of fireworks is strictly prohibited.
6. Obscenity or wrong mean in any sense will lead to immediate disqualification.
7. Pre-recorded music should be brought in both audio CD and pen drive (in .wav or .mp3 format).
8. One person per team must be there to manage sound track. Bring 2 CDs containing sound track.
9. Decision of the judges will be final.
Appendix A (Rules of Game)
Problem statement: Each team has to build a manually controlled mechanical bot capable of playing football.
TEAM: 1. The maximum number of participants allowed in a team is 4
2. A team may consist of students from different/same colleges.
3. A participant cannot be in two teams in the same event.
GENERAL RULES: 1. Any action against fair play will lead to immediate disqualification.
2. The decision of the coordinators will be final & binding.
3. Rules may be modified after the commencement of the event.
4. The bots can be powered on-board as well as off board as well as off-
board.
5. In case of off-board power supply the wires must be kept slacked all the
time.
6. Team members will not be allowed to touch any part of arena, only
organizer are allowed to handle the arena in any situation, the team will
be disqualified whose member found touching arena.
7. Damaging the arena will lead to disqualification.
8. In case of any difficulty that arise during the event, the Fest team members
will give the final decision
BOT SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Dimensions should be of 25cm x 20cm x 20cm (LxWxH).
2. Maximum weight of a bot should not be more than 2.5 kg.
3. Maximum battery supply allowed is 24volts. We will only provide 220v, 50
Hz supply.
4. Must be containing a hitting mechanism.
5. No modification is allowed after the bots registration.
BALL SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Game will be played with light plastic or polymer balls with size similar to
golf ball. 3cm(+/- 10%).
GAME OVERVIEW: 1. There will be 2 rounds – prelims and final.
PRELIMS:
FINALS:
Hone your ball-control, dribbling and shooting aptitudes.
1. There will be 2 rounds.
A. Round 1:-The bot is required to score a goal, avoiding obstacles
placed in the arena, within 2 mins. Score of round =120-( time taken by the
bot to score goal in sec + 5*no of obstacle touched).
B. Round 2:- The bot has to hit the ball . The more distance
transverse by the ball , the more you score .MAXM score of this round is
60.
2. Half teams with the best total score will qualify for the next round.
1. Two teams meet for a knockout match, of 4mins half. Each will be a 1 vs 1
match. The winner progresses.
2. There will be two halves in the match. Each half will be of 2 minutes.
3. No timeout is allowed. If any bot get stopped during the match, the match
will continue and team members not to be allowed to touch their bots.
4. Even own goals are counted.
5. In case of draw first we will go for extra time of 2mins. If then after the
match remain draw we will go for penalty shootout and each team have to
take 5shots,then after if the result remain draw then we will go for sudden
death and each team have to take 2shots.then if the result remains draw
then we will finalize the result by toss.
6. Bot cannot keep the ball on halt for more than 10 seconds by any contact
or shielding, in such a case foul will be awarded and the opponent will start
the game from his starting zone. 7. In case of ball halts (more than 10 seconds) which does not involve mistake
of any participant, the game will restart from the nearest ‘Point Start’ marked on the arena.
