In the Auxiliary you get to do what you want and volunteer as much time as you like, Flotilla 87 (Englewood), patrols Lemon Bay, from Boca Grande to the Manasota Key Bridge. Their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. the 2nd Tuesday of each month at it‛s facility at 1949 Englewood Rd, Englewood, FL, and visitors are welcome.

Auxiliary members teach public education courses, safe boating skills, navigation and seamanship, and offer boaters free annual checks of their boats‛ safety equipment and help in search and rescue efforts, regatta patrols and boat parades; and have an opportunity to work with like-minded people.

If you feel strongly about serving your community, the Coast Guard Auxiliary is the right place for you. Although auxiliary positions are not paid, there are numerous benefits for members.
