Class of 2015 Certified Interventional Pain Sonologists The Certified Interventional Pain Sonologist (CIPS) credential was developed by the World Institute of Pain® (WIP) in affiliation with the World Academy of Pain Medicine Ultrasonography (WAPMU); in recognition of the escalating utilization of ultrasound by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain syndromes. The Inaugural Class of 2015 represents physicians from 13 countries: Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Hungary, India, Ireland, Malaysia, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Spain, United Arab Emirates, and the USA. Of the 26 physicians who earned CIPS certification, certificates were associated with exams conducted in Miami, Florida, USA (No. 1-7); Maastricht, The Netherlands (No. 8-11); and again in Miami (No. 12-26).
