2016 Run-Shunga 5K Raises Funds for Area School Districts

TCT is excited to announce that this year’s Run-Shunga 5K raised $1,000 for area school districts! Par cipants were asked to indicate which school district they would like their registra on to benefi t and the break down for 2016 is as follows: $600 for USD 417–Morris County, $230 for USD 481–Rural Vista and $170 for USD 473–Chapman. Checks will be presented to each district at the beginning of the 2016/2017 school year.

The overall winners of the race and the winners of a free registra on to the Mother K 5K on Sept. 10 were Jessica Finney and Ma Goeckel.

Hope Summer Reading ProgramThe Hope Community Library will

host the summer reading program “Get On Your Mark, Get Set, Read” during July and August. This year’s theme is all about teamwork, good nutri on, and exercise.

Our fi rst session will be Thursday, July 28, at 10AM at the First Na onal Bank Annex on Main Street in beau ful downtown Hope. Milford Nature Center will share stories featuring real live animals. Bring the whole family to see what creatures they will bring this year!

Our second mee ng will be Thursday, August 4, at 10AM again at the Annex. Our program will be local Hope resident Nancy Lorson showing us how to be “The Best Me Possible”. Nancy, a cer fi ed aerobics instructor, has something very special planned for all ages. Join us to fi nd out what the surprise is!

Our third and last event will be Thursday, August 11, also at 10AM at the Annex. We are excited to have someone from the Dickinson Soil Conserva on District offi ce come to share things from our local environment that go along with our theme. You will be amazed!
