But there are also many roadblocks -- time commitments and balancing work and home, procrastination, fears related to the exam itself, costs for materials, and other unknowns can get in the way of preparation. The HTH/ICAHN CPHQ Prep Virtual Book Club is designed to help overcome some of the roadblocks and maximize the benefits of preparing for the CPHQ Exam, whether or not participants decide to immediately sit for the exam on their own. Program Moderator & Support Angie Charlet, DBA, MHA, RN

Senior Director of Quality Services - Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN)

Angie Charlet is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years in the healthcare industry. She has a Bachelor’s in Nursing, a

Master’s in Healthcare Management with a focus in performance improvement and her Doctorate Degree in Business

Administration with a focus on Healthcare Management and Executive Leadership. She is certified in CPHQ, and

Certified in both Lean and Black Belt Six Sigma. She is employed by the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network

(ICAHN) as the Director of Quality and Education and also functions as the Quality Director and Compliance Officer for

their new ACO; Illinois Rural Community Care Organization (IRCCO), which is currently implementing the Patient Cen-

tered Medical Home and Care Coordination as the foundation within the ACO.

Angie provides training, education, mock surveys and resources to both critical access hospitals and RHCs. Her focus

is around regulations, quality initiatives, PCMH implementation, care coordination and expanding the market share by

creating a medical neighborhood. Her skill sets include demonstrated team building, network engagement, evidence-

based practice, PCMH, Lean and Six Sigma along with Leadership Coaching to bring new initiatives/practice models.

In addition, Ms. Charlet has sat on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Rural Health Clinics since

2012.

• CPHQ Practice Exam: A practice exam offering 130 multiple choice questions. An opportunity to receive immediate

feedback with answer rationales for each question. A great study tool for those who want to assess their readiness

for the CPHQ exam

Virtual Book Club Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality® (CPHQ) Prep

Virtual Prep Club Schedule Utilizing the Book Club Resources, the book club will include a discussion and review of a set of book chapters each

month, moderated by Dr. Angie Charlet. Participants will be provided with materials, a program schedule, and will be

asked to come to the Book Club ready to discuss the homework each month. These sessions will be held on the first

Thursday of the month at 11 Eastern/10am Central, and will last between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on the topic.
