NAVIGATING THE CERTIFICATION APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications will be completed through Certemy’s online application platform.

The entire certification application is completedonline and can be accessed from the TCB web site www.tncertification.org. New applicants can self-enroll into the certification process directly from the TCB web site.

CERTIFICATION: AN ONLINE PROCESS

To begin a new application, you must self-enroll from the certification page on theTCB web site. Select the credential self-enrollment application link that you wish to

complete, and you will be directed to Certemy.

You will be re-directed to Certemy’s online application portal. Complete the following steps to create your account. Your username and password will be your login credentials

used to login after your initial account creation.

From the TCB homepage, you can access Certemy’s main login page.Click on Applicant Login to login with an existing account.

Returning users will come to a login screen on Certemy’s site. Enter the email and password you created with your account. To reset your password, click

Forgot or Reset Password at the bottom of the page.

After logging in, you will be taken to your dashboard, showing your application status and steps. On the right-hand side are the required, individual steps to be

completed for the online application.

A quick overview of your Certemy application dashboard:“My Credentials” shows list of professional’s credentials.

“Digital Wallet” contains all files you have uploaded and your digital certificates once earned.

Example: The CPS I contains 14 steps. Some steps will be completed by the applicant, while some steps are verification steps and will be completed by TCB.

Applicants can see and access individual steps on the right side ofthe dashboard. To complete a step,click on it for detailed informationon how to complete

The overall status may say “pending verification” which means there are steps waiting to be verified by TCB, including “Final Verification” before certificationis completed.

Some steps will show this pop up first. Usually, you will select “Complete Now” to complete the step. In rare circumstances, some users may have completed a step outside of the application (example: paying fees outside of the online system). For those circumstances, users could select “Upload Evidence Document” to submit prior evidence of completion. In most circumstances, or when in doubt, click “Complete Now” to complete.

You will receive instructions for each step. For this step, you’ll read the following, complete the information as requested, and click “Continue” at the bottom of the page when finished.

You will then be asked to provide an electronic signature and click “Submit.” You will then be asked to confirm this submission. Click “Confirm” to complete this step.

When a step is completed, it will turn green. Now it’s pending verification and approval by TCB. Once TCB verifies, the step will turn green with a check mark.

Steps are given a time-frame to complete. Once you are near the end-date of a step, it will turn yellow. When you are past the end date, it will turn red, to notify you to complete the step.

To submit formal education, click continue.

Here, applicants can attach documentation for formal education. Drop a file or click “browse” to find a file, then click “Upload.”A screen will then appear asking you to “Confirm” the document upload for review and approval.

For professional work experience, this section will be completed by the supervisor(s) the applicants choose. To complete this step, scroll to the bottom and select “Invite Supervisor.”

Complete this section with your supervisor’s name and email. The expiration date can be any number. For the invitation text, please be as descriptive as possible as to what job title, function and dates, you are asking them to verify for you, to avoid confusion for the supervisor(s).

Click “Send Invitation.” Your supervisor will receive an email to complete the verification. Once complete, TCB will approve. You may invite more than one supervisor to fulfill your hours.

Supervised Practical Experienceworks much like the Professional Work Experience step. You will scroll to the bottom and click Invite Supervisor. Complete the short form to invite one or more supervisors to completethis step.

The Training step is broken down into several sub-requirements. On the left-hand side, scroll down to see each specific requirement. When you click on a specific requirement, it will appear on the right-hand side of your screen.

Click on a training sub-requirement on the left side of your screen, and it will appear on the right side of your screen.

To submit hours, select “submit hours” then fill in the requested information about a training you have completed.

When you have submitted all required hours foreach specific category, you will see that you have submitted all required hours and are pending verification. Complete all other training requirements.

TCB will review each entry. If approved, TCB will accept the submission. If there is a problem with a submission, TCB will reject it, which will notify you to correct and resubmit the rejected training entry.

To pay fees, you can click “Pay Fee” to quickly, securely and easily pay directly through Certemy through Stripe payments.

In rare circumstances, if you have already paid, you can Upload an Evidence Document of prior payment, or select 3rd Party Payment if payment is being made outside of this application system. It is recommended to select “Pay Fee” and pay online for quicker processing.

Online payments are easy in Certemy. The application partners with Stripe payment processing to process fees directly in the online application.

All applicants are required to complete a background check, conducted through the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Details instructions are provided in this step. Fees are paid directly to provider and results will be mailed to TCB when complete.

All applicants must pass an IC&RC exam. In this step, applicants must pay the exam fee in order to register. Once paid, TCB pre-registers applicants with the testing company and applicants receive instructions on how to schedule their exam.

Some steps do NOT require action by the applicant. These steps are completed by TCB and are verification processes. Once verified by TCB, these steps will turn green with a checkmark to signal the step has been completed. Once the “Final Verification” step is complete, applicants have completed certification and their digital certificate will be available in the Digital Wallet of their Certemy account.

In Certemy, certificates are issued online and can be found electronically in the “Digital Wallet” section of your account, accessed from your dashboard. You can download your certificate for personal use. Certificates are issued at initial certification and each renewal/recertification.

After applicants become initially certified,Certemy automatically places them into a two-yearrecertification / renewal phase. This appears in the account dashboard. Just like the initial certification, the steps required for renewal appear on the right of the dashboard. Applicants will receive notifications in advance of their credential expiration, to complete the required renewal steps. Certification is good for two years until renewal is required.
