Ordering – To order, first select the series size or pattern,second select the color or colorway, and last select the texture� Coverage is based on 3/8" grout joints� It’s an industry rule of thumb to purchase 10% to 15% additional tile depending on tile and room design� It is a good idea to store a few extra matching tiles in case damaged tiles need to be replaced in the future� Important: Pricing subject to change without notice�

Minimum Orders – Products are made to order, there is aset-up fee of $150 for orders less than 25 square feet except for our standard hand painted decos and in stock items�

Oleson Series – Handcrafted 5/8" thick high fired terra-cotta pavers and tiles� They have a handmade artisan appearance, pillowed edges and rounded corners� See bisque and glaze color selection on pages 30-31� An actual control sample should be requested for color approval for Signature colored tiles 12" x 12" or larger� Great for indoors and outdoors and in wet and freeze thaw conditions� Oleson series square foot piece count is based on 3/8" grout joints�

Monrovia Series – Handcrafted 5/8" thick high fired terra-cotta pavers and tiles� They have square corners and sides� See bisque and glaze color selection on pages 30-31� An actual control sample should be requested for color approval for Signature colored tiles 12" x 12" or larger� Excellent for indoors and outdoors and in wet and freeze thaw conditions� Any Monrovia tile size can be made into a bullnose for an additional charge� A large selection of trim pieces (accessories) are available� Monrovia series square foot piece count is based on 3/8" grout joints�

Studio Field Series – Studio Field tiles are 3/8" thick withsquare edges and corners. Studio field tiles are available in standard as well as arabesque shapes� See glaze color selection on pages 30-31� An actual control sample should be requested for color approvalfor large 12" x 12" tiles with Signature colors� Suitable for indoors andoutdoors and in wet and freeze thaw conditions� A large selectionof trim pieces (accessories) are available, see pages 9-10� Studioseries square foot piece count is based on 1/4" grout joints�

Hand Painted Series – Hand painted tiles are 3/8" thick withsquare edges and corners� Custom colors available for an additional charge� Call for pricing when using Signature and Premium glazes together on custom decos� Paint sheets are available for all decos online at www�ARTO�com� Hand painted tiles are compatible with Monrovia and Studio Field series pavers and tiles�

Classic Colors – Unglazed color through body� Great forindoor and outdoor commercial and residential floors and walls. Ideal for wet and freeze thaw conditions� Seal with penetrating sealer only for exterior applications; topical or penetrating sealer can be used indoors�

Premium Glazes – Wonderful for kitchens, bathrooms,washrooms, floors, and walls. Excellent choice for indoor and outdoor commercial and residential floors and walls. Suitable for wet and freeze thaw conditions� Glazes are applied to a red bisque�

Glazes have been laboratory tested for chemical resistance against pool chemicals� Make sure water chemistry is properly balanced for best long term performance of pool tiles� Glazes can be affected by out of balance, highly acidic or alkaline water� *Apple Valley Red and Hazard County Orange must have grit added to tile where coefficient of friction is a concern (flooring applications).

Signature Glazes – Extensive variety of colors� Excellent forresidential use in bathrooms, kitchens, walls, backsplashes, and much more� Signature glazes can be used in waterline applications if overglaze is specified (see below). Glazes are applied to a red bisque� Call ARTO for best performance recommendations�

Overglaze – ARTO can add a clear overglaze to Signature colors for tiles being used in pools, fountains, and other applications where the tiles are continually submerged in water for an additional charge� Please note: Overglaze will make tiles glossy and will affect the glaze’s final color. Overglaze can be affected by out of balance, highly acidic or alkaline water�

Glaze Grit – ARTO can add grit to the glaze to increase thecoefficient of friction, or make a smooth glossy glaze less slippery for an additional charge� Call for pricing� Please note: Grit will add black speckles to tiles which will affect appearance especially on light colored glazes�

Sealers – Many of our customers over the years have askedus what sealers we recommend and where to buy them� To make it easier for our customers we have decided to offer those recommended sealers directly to the world at competitive prices�

We at ARTO recommend sealer to protect our products during installation and for preserving its beauty� Sealer is a big part of creating the correct expectation of the tile� Which sealer to use needs to be part of the discussion as you decide what color tile to select and its application� There are two basic types of sealers: Topical & Penetrating� Sealer can change the color and sheen so make sure to test first to ensure finished look is as desired. Test sealer on loose pieces, a mock-up, or a small, unobtrusive area� This is the ultimate in setting your expectation correctly� Go to www�arto�com/faq to learn more�

Reminder – Tile can be stained by grout or other construction debris during installation� Pre-Sealing the tile will make cleaning any debris like grout off the tile easier� Apply sealer according to directions� ARTO recommended sealer can be found on page 66�

Pallet & Crate Fee – Pallets are = $15�00 each, Half Crates= $25�00 each, and Full Non-Stackable Domestic Crates = $45�00 each (Non-Refundable)� Call ARTO for international crate fees�

Storage Fees - A storage fee of $20 per pallet per day will beadded to orders not shipped within 5 business days of the order being completed� If your order is not shipped within 30 business days ARTO reserves the right to the product for other customer orders�

Studio Hand Painted Murals | CustomARTO’s hand painted mural department is rich with talented artists who create standard and custom murals for discerning customers� Our artists understand each mural is unique and personal� The process to create a custom mural design usually takes several weeks, but depends on the requirements of the customer� First, our artist works with the customers to finalize line drawing and color selection. Once the design and color selection are finalized our artists will get to work hand painting each tile. Once the tiles are painted they will be fired and then carefully packaged for shipment anywhere in the world.

Color Shade Variation GuideColor variation is inherent when using natural ingredients and handcrafted designs.

V1Uniform Appearance: Differences among pieces from the same production run are minimal. Each piece has the same texture, color share, and pattern with minimal and insignificant variation from tile to tile.

V2 Slight Variation: Clearly distinguishable differences in texture and/or pattern within similar colors. While the texture, color, and shade may “move around” somewhat from tile to tile, the general appearance from tile to tile is quite similar.

V3Moderate Variation: While the colors present on a single piece of tile will be indicative of the colors to be expected on the other tiles, the amount of color on each piece may vary significantly. The texture color, and shade may change considerably from tile to tile. All the colors present on a single tile will be present to some degree in all of the tiles.

V4Random Variation: Random color differences from tile to tile; one tile may have different colors from that on other tiles, thus the final installation will be unique. Random color differences from tile to tile; one tile may have totally different colors from that on the other tiles. These tiles cannot be selected by the customer from just one or two pieces.

All ARTO concrete products are handcrafted in Southern California with abundant and renewable locally sourced materials. Our high strength fiber reinforced concrete has been both tested for and

proven in use in harsh freezing and thawing climates.

Ordering – To order first select the series size or pattern, coloror color blend, texture, and if desired the sealer type� It’s an industry rule of thumb to purchase 10% to 15% additional tile depending on tile and room design� It is a good idea to store a few extra matching tiles in case damaged tiles need to be replaced in the future� The square foot piece counts for Artillo™, Super Artillo™, and Roman products are based on ½" grout joints� Important: Pricing subject to change without notice�

Minimum Orders – Products are made to order, there is aset-up fee of $150 for orders less than 25 square feet except for our in stock items�

Artillo™ – The Artillo™ series is ARTO’s original and most diversecollection� Individually handcrafted Artillo™ products have natural undulating surfaces with square edges� Each Artillo™ size and shape has its own distinct personality for a uniquely rustic appearance� An extensive array of accessories including surface bullnose, cove bases, stairtreads, and coping are offered as well as a wide selection of decorative pieces� The Artillo™ series provides solutions for almost any application: residential, commercial, interior, exterior, walls, floors, kitchens, bathrooms, and driveways� Its durability allows for seamless transitions between interiors and exteriors� Accessories will vary from field tile.

Super Artillo™ – Is a very traditional looking tile, and features apillowed edge and round corners�

Roman – Roman tiles and pavers have flat surfaces with crisp squareedges� They have a 1/8" round over and over and slight taper to the side� They come in thicknesses of 1" (tile) and 2" (paver)� The Roman series provides solutions for almost any application: Residential, commercial, interior, exterior, walls, floors, kitchens, bathrooms, and driveways� Its durability allows for seamless transitions between interiors and exteriors� Roman series also offers a complete line of pool and step coping, and popular large format tiles and pavers� Accessories will vary from field tile.

Concrete Tiles – ARTO defines Tile as a product made with athickness of 1/2" to 1"� Tiles should always be applied to interior and exterior floors and walls with mortar.

Concrete Pavers – ARTO defines Pavers as a product madewith a thickness of 2" or greater� They can be mortared or sand set and are a great choice for patios, walkways, and driveways*� * Ensure all substrates are properly designed and prepared for specified application� Sizes larger than 12 x 12 are not recommended for sand set driveway applications� Visit www�ARTO�com for substrate preparation & installation guidelines� See California Paver products at the bottom of page 44�

Concrete Textures – ARTO offers four different concretetextures and one texture blend. Standard – Has a form finished surface and is the default texture� Like all concrete products made with natural materials the color will be mottled with variation� Limestone – Organic, weathered appearance and generally lightens the original color� Luna – Our most distressed texture, inspired by the craters, seas and valleys of the moon� Travertine – Rustic pitted surface� Vintage – Is a blend of the above textures to create a rustically distinct appearance from distressed terra cotta to natural stone�

Sealers – Many of our customers over the years have asked us what sealers we recommend and where to buy them� To make it easier for our customers we have decided to offer those recommended sealers directly to the world at competitive prices�

We at ARTO recommend sealer to protect our products during installation and for preserving its beauty� Sealer is a big part of creating the correct expectation of the tile� Which sealer to use needs to be part of the discussion as you decide what color tile to select and its application� There are two basic types of sealers: Topical & Penetrating� Sealer can change the color and sheen so make sure to test first to ensure finished look is as desired. Test sealer on loose pieces, a mock-up, or a small, unobtrusive area� This is the ultimate in setting your expectation correctly� Go to www�arto�com/faq to learn more�

Reminder – Tile can be stained by grout or other construction debris during installation� Pre-Sealing the tile will make cleaning any debris like grout off the tile easier� Apply sealer according to directions� ARTO recommended sealer can be found on page 66�

Color Lifespan – The color can’t fade� The color used in everyARTO concrete product is pure inorganic iron oxide pigment made in a process of oxidizing metal, in essence, "fading" metal into a pigment powder� The resulting powder pigment concentrate is impossible to fade� That’s why it’s the same active ingredient in another permanent coloring application: tattoos� Concrete, on the other hand does change with time and weather exposure� Even uncolored concrete which turns yellow, erodes, and darkens as it accumulates dirt, dust, and grime from the environment�

Pallet & Crate Fee – Pallets are = $15�00 each, Half Crates =$25�00 each, and Full Non-Stackable Domestic Crates = $45�00 each (Non-Refundable)� Call ARTO for international crate fees�

Storage Fees – A storage fee of $20 per pallet per day will beadded to orders not shipped within 5 business days of the order being completed� If your order is not shipped within 30 business days ARTO reserves the right to the product for other customer orders�

Color Shade Variation GuideColor variation is inherent when using natural ingredients and handcrafted designs.

V1Uniform Appearance: Differences among pieces from the same production run are minimal. Each piece has the same texture, color share, and pattern with minimal and insignificant variation from tile to tile.

V2 Slight Variation: Clearly distinguishable differences in texture and/or pattern within similar colors. While the texture, color, and shade may “move around” somewhat from tile to tile, the general appearance from tile to tile is quite similar.

V3Moderate Variation: While the colors present on a single piece of tile will be indicative of the colors to be expected on the other tiles, the amount of color on each piece may vary significantly. The texture color, and shade may change considerably from tile to tile. All the colors present on a single tile will be present to some degree in all of the tiles.

V4Random Variation: Random color differences from tile to tile; one tile may have different colors from that on other tiles, thus the final installation will be unique. C39 Compressive strength is the best way to measure and compare strength of installed concrete, ceramic, and natural stone products. Heavy traffic vehicles

C78/C293 Flexural strength measures resistance to bending loads for pedestal applications and for durability during shipping and handling.

C140 Absorption values are important to determine expected performance, appropriate applications, plus sealing and maintenance requirements.

C140 Density is used to calculate weight to ensure products are suitable for adhered veneer applications and over elevated sub floors.

C157 This test ensures that the concrete is dimensionally stable and products are ready for immediate installation.

C1645 Testing demonstrates ARTO concrete will not deteriorate when exposed to freezing and thawing cycles that would damage most other materials.

DCOF DCOF testing ensures the surfaces of tile and pavers have enough grip to be safely used in wet or dry, and in interior or exterior applications.

Sample Policy: The minimum order policy does not apply to sample orders�

Exact Samples: If a sample is requested we will ask if "exact samples or closest match" is needed� If exact samples are in stock we will ship the sample same day or next day with your FEDEX or UPS number� If the sample is not in stock, and depending on color selected, it may take up to 2 weeks for a sample to be produced� Note: Classic colors are usually quicker to produce� Closest Match Samples: If a customer cannot wait 2 weeks for a sample to be produced, ARTO can offer a Closest Match option� We will select and ship the exact or similar shape and color selected as separate pieces� For example if the request is 12" Octagon Mission Red and none are available in stock, we would offer a color chip of Mission Red and a piece of 12" Octagon in any color�Shipping: To save time, if you are ordering samples regularly, please send us your FedEx or UPS account number to keep on file.Exceptions: If a long list of samples are ordered and the colors are not from the Classic selection we will most likely charge at regular discount level� A special discounted price is given on hand painted deco samples� Please follow How to Place an Order with ARTO to order samples� (See page 68�)

ARTO makes their ceramic and concrete products the traditional way with skilled human hands, local materials, and hard work� In today’s world where everything is automated and products all look the same or are printed out to trick your eye, ARTO makes truly unique handcrafted products� ARTO’s products attract customers who are indeed unique themselves and want that represented in the items they use to make their spaces distinctively their own�

Capturing the depth of life in a product takes years of experience, creativity, hard work, and sweat� All this was embodied in ARTO’s founder, Arto Alajian� Where did Arto Alajian get his experience, taste, creativity, and work ethic? For Arto it came from his unique life experiences and was stimulated by adversity� Arto’s father was born in Armenia and was a child refugee of the Armenian Genocide� Born in Alexandria, Egypt, Arto Alajian was classically trained in the arts and was exposed to the ancient art and architecture of Egypt and the Middle East� In Egypt, he learned the art of designing and making handcrafted leather shoes in his father’s shoe factory� When the revolution came to Egypt, he fled to Beirut where he

worked for British Airways� When turmoil began in Beirut, he set his eyes on North America� In 1962, Arto traveled through America visiting New York, Boston, Houston, and Vancouver, finally making his home in Venice, California� To support himself he took a job as a milkman at Adohr Farms� As a way to make additional income he made lightweight old world looking clay thin brick veneers and sold them to the customers on his milk route� The thin brick became so popular he quit his job and started ARTO Brick in 1966�

Over the years his many products have been used throughout the world in large commercial projects, restaurants, retail stores, hotels, resorts, mansions, and in the homes of movie and TV stars and regular hard working people like Arto� In 2014, after living his American dream, Arto Alajian passed away; but not before passing ARTO Brick on to his sons� His sons, Armen and Vod continue to keep their father’s legacy alive by offering customers handcrafted ceramic and rustically elegant concrete products still made in their father’s Southern California factory� To learn more about ARTO’s products go to ARTO�com�
