We embrace our rich community culture that is reflected throughout each room named in honour of the Yarra River. Our passionate and diverse team are committed to driving Smart Starts philosophy to provide best outcomes for all families and children, enriching our community. Smart Start respects and provides a diverse and inclusive environment. We foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our community. Educators, children and families are actively responsible for providing a sustainable environment through their use of natural and community resources. Smart Start provides an enriching & purposeful, challenging curriculum. Educators use an emergent, play-based curriculum with best practice and principles to guide children’s learning. Children begin to learn from birth. As Educators we acknowledge that families are children’s first and most important, influential teachers. We understand each child has their own unique learning journey. We provide endless opportunities for children to have a sense of belonging and connection to their land. We allow children to be in the moment and foster their development to become who they are as a unique individual. Smart Start ELDC is committed to high expectations for each child’s learning and development. We believe children’s choice, independence and achievements are of great importance, encouraging children to be active participants within their own learning environment.
