PARKIng SOLUTIOnS
Directional signage located at major entrances to the city centre provide shoppers and visitors with at a glance guide to parking.
The colour coded signage clearly identifies the location of car parks, time limits and the number of car parks. This makes it easy for residents and visitors to identify the best places to park their car.
Colour coded boxes provide a quick reference for parking time limits, with orange denoting 1–2 hour limits, purple 3–4 hour and green all day parking.

TIPS FOR PARKIng
Ask a Parking Officer — Parking Officers are approachable and will be pleased to provide assistance with parking, directions and general information on the City.
Read the signs – Regulated parking areas are clearly sign posted to inform the driver of parking requirements. Read the signs carefully to avoid the risk of receiving an infringement notice.
Do not stop at any time in no Stopping Zones, Taxi Zones or Bus Zones.
Do not park in a Loading Zone unless you are driving a vehicle that is authorised to use these zones.
Do not park in Disabled Parking Zones – unless you have been issued with the appropriate permit issued by your local Council.
Plan ahead – be aware that during peak times, it may take a few minutes to find a park. Leave enough time to find a park without rushing!
Coins – our City has parking meters and ticket machines installed throughout the city centre. When parking remember to have some coins on hand.
ReMeMBeR that on street parking in Bendigo’s city centre is intended for short stays.
For further information please contact:
TIMe LIMITS
Time limits are necessary to allow as many people as possible to have access to an area. Time limits are shown on kerbside signs and at entrances to parking areas.
The time limit applies to a section of a road or area and not just the bay in which you have parked. So once the time limit has expired you must move your vehicle out of the area. Putting more money in the meter does not cancel your obligation to move once the time limit is up. if you stay longer than the time allowed you can be fined.
dISABLed PARKIng BAYS
These bays can only be used for vehicles displaying a valid disabled parking permit “Category 1” (blue label), providing the vehicle is parked by, or for the convenience of, the permit holder.
Vehicles displaying a “Category 2” disabled parking permit (green label) must not be parked in a disabled parking bay. These vehicles can be parked in a standard parking bay for up to twice the time limit for that bay, once the fee is paid.
