Dear Parishioners and Friends, It is with great joy and thanksgiving to God our Father and to the people of our Parish that we begin to celebrate the festivities of our Centennial Year for the many blessings bestowed upon us throughout these years of service and dedication. Over the past 100 years the people of the Church of St. William through parish ministry, school and social activities has sought to grow as a Catholic community. We have been bound together in love, to live and to spread the Gospel values. We are truly grateful to all who have helped and continue to help to build up the Kingdom of God in the past, and now in the present time. May our prayerful reflection on the past and our unfailing hope in the future during this Centen-nial Jubilee move us to share with all people God’s gifts to us and all that we are and have. Fr. Al Concha Pastor

Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
January 20, 2019
FOCUS: The Lord has betrothed himself to us in Christ Jesus and we are not abandoned.
The wedding at Cana has Jesus at the heart of the cel-ebration. He is present now as we gather to celebrate. Here today he bestows upon us his blessings and his gifts—bringing forth faith and reassuring us of his fi-delity and abundant grace.
LITURGY OF THE WORD: In relaying the words
of the Lord to Israel, Isaiah uses the image of a mar-riage to describe the relationship between God and his Chosen People. Saint Paul reminds us that the Spirit gives many different gifts to be used to build up the community. The Gospel tells the story of Jesus’ first miracle—turning water into wine at the wedding feast at Cana.
REFLECTION: We need a variety of gifts in the
Church. How boring it would be if we all had the same gift, or gifts. And how deprived we would be! Paul is reminding us of our God who sees our needs and addresses them through the different members of the Christian community.
So we ask ourselves:
What gift has God given me?
How do I use that gift to serve others?
How am I a sign of God’s active presence in the world?

Catholic Catechism for Adults The presence of the Catholic Church in the United States reaches back to the founding days of our country through the leadership of Archbishop John Carroll, the first Catholic bishop in the United States. His story like the stories at the start of each chapter in the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults give us a glimpse into the lives of Catho-lics who lived out their faith through-out our country's history. Each chap-ter in the Catechism for Adults in-
cludes stories, doctrine, reflection, quotations, discussion questions, and prayer to lead the reader to a deepening faith. Join us Monday evenings beginning January 21 in the Convent basement at 7:00pm as we explore this rich source of our Catholic Faith in the United States. Purchase the book on Amazon or at any book store. Register for class: [email protected] or call 267-831-8046.
From Yoline and Melissa and the Scutt Family
We want to express our gratitude to the St. William’s Parish family and especially Fr. Al Concha, who always came and checked on us. We thank all the commu-nities including the Pakistani, Spanish
and Haitian communities who supported our cause. All of the donations and purchases of our baked goods and religious gifts helped us raise $2,333.25. These funds contributed to our trip balance and travel needs for our journey to Panama for World Youth Day 2019. We will take you in our hearts and pray for this wonderful and colorful parish celebrating 100 years.
MISA DE APERTURA DEL AÑO JUBILAR ENERO 20, 2019 - 11:30 AM
"Agradecidos y bendecidos"!

Salmo 100, 4
SEGUNDO DOMINGO TIEMPO ORDINARIO
